My big red flag on that rumor was the 1-year part. Dude's 29. This is probably going to be his last shot at a "big" (relative for a guy like Reynolds, mind you) contract. He's not going to accept a 1-year deal this early into FA.

It might be what he winds up having to take, mind you... but that's not the sort of deal he takes in Day 2 of the free agency period.

Even coming off his career year in LA he only found a 1 year deal with the Titans for less the $2M. And that was 3 years ago. A 1 year deal for $6M if it’s all or mostly guaranteed might be a realistic outcome for him.

It's not like Reader's a slam dunk, but it's a good risk. I'll be curious to see if they built games played incentives into that money or it has like an out after 1 year with something like $15M or so guaranteed.
