I think we saw the second half of the season and playoffs, that Cam Sutton seems to be more suited as CB2 than a 1....1s arent easy to find nor are they cheap.....and its not easy to find them in the draft either....Brad has his work cut out for him here.

    • Johnson and Glenn both interviewing with Commanders in person today. “Sources” saying the job is more open than has been reported and that Johnson isn’t a done deal there. We’ll see. Seattle also still with Johnson in the mix.

Mike McDonald and Dan Quinn in the mix for both jobs as well.

      • Johnson may have set his price very high because he likes Detroit situation.
Maybe once again he’ll come back for unfinished business.

        • I really REALLY hope we re-sign Glasgow & JRM. I fear that Jonah Jackson is gone because of his price tag and injury troubles, but that would be nice as well. Whatever happens, I trust Brad Holmes!

          • Johnson is staying! 👏

In the back of my mind I thought there's unfinished and there’s a chance he stays.
            Awesome news.

                • The Detroit Lions are still reeling from their loss in the NFC Championship Game, but they started the offseason with a major victory, keeping offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for another season.

                  • Not a surprise, the Commander job is a huge question mark. The new owner can't be worse than Snyder, but it's also not going to be a fine tuned org going in with a relatively green coach.

                    • Johnson might be one of those guys content with being a coordinator, because he sure has been awfully picky taking that next step.

Synder fucked the franchise for years to come. It’s going to take years for the new owner to unfuck the damage Synder has done to the team but its reputation as a whole. He has his work cut out for him because it may a decade to undo it all. Synder has done that much damage to a once good franchise.

Like Michigan the job is not finished. Ben Johnson came so close to getting the Lions to a Superbowl.

                          • It's weird, there is more scuttle that the price he was asking for was high and that was giving teams pause. Is he just so comfortable in Detroit that he's only going to go for a godfather offer?

                            • Dan’s probably a really great guy to work for and with. They know what he expects and he tells it like it is but I think he also gives them some freedom and isn’t standing over their shoulder on every call. Brad and Sheila are great too. I might have problems with some of Dan’s calls but I think he’s a good leader.

Eh, they are going to have like $70-$80M in cap space and 6 picks in the top 102. They have a lot of things to do, but if they hit on enough of that (including a QB) they can turn it around pretty quick.
