  • Rodriguez is definitely a long time starter if he stays healthy. His ceiling might not be super high but he’s a plus starter, maybe more. His run instincts are excellent.

    • I noticed in the 2nd half of the Jets game they double teamed Houston a few times...At least one of those came on a sack by Okwara.....It may free him and Aidan up more if teams are going to double Houston.

I made the observation that the Rodriguez early returns reminded me of Zach Thomas. Jimmy Johnson drafted him and according to Skip Bayless, he was just a stopgap until they could get a bigger, quicker linebacker. The Dolphins never found someone better.

You will notice both Rodriguez and Anzalone are much better now the defensive line has settled in.

        • I wanted Anzalone gone after his first year with the team. Not so sure anymore as he’s played really well

          • Zach Thomas was a tackling machine. It was a different game back then and he had more chances against the run, but Thomas was still off the charts. He had 118 solo tackles his rookie year.

              Definitely don't want him gone.

Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

                  • Kalif Raymond is the NFC special teams player of the week

The Lions got stuffed on four straight plays near the goal-line byt the Jets defense to kick off last Sunday’s game, but the offense’s failure turned out to be the prelude to a big special teams play.

Detroit’s defense forced a quick three-and-out and Jets punter Braden Mann drove a short kick from his end zone toward Lions returner Kalif Raymond. Raymond fielded the punt cleanly and needed a matter of seconds to cover 47 yards for a touchdown that sent the Lions on their way to a 20-17 victory.

It was Raymond’s only punt return of the day, but it was enough for him to be named the NFC’s special teams player of the week on Wednesday.

The touchdown was the first punt return for a score of Raymond’s career and his first touchdown of any kind this season. He is averaging 14.6 yards per return this season and has 39 catches for 454 yards.
