  • Curious to see if this will help. Although this is probably a bad week to see:

That has day trader written all over it - during the middle of the game.

      • There you go. Paschal activated from PUP. Paschal is #93… hope to see him getting backup rotational DLine snaps tomorrow.
Chark unfortunately to IR. Likely joining Tyrell Williams and Perriman as 1 year prove-it deal free agent WR busts.

        • Chark had a good camp too, unfortunate that he and Goff were just a bit off on some deep balls in the regular season and now IR.

I'd expect Cominsky to have a bigger impact than Paschal. I imagine he'll be limited. But maybe he'll make some plays with the snaps he gets.

It's almost impossible for them to make a trade unless they are sending a decent size salary the other way. The cap restructure for Vatai had to be done so they can continue to elevate players from the practice squad.

            • Look here, all you Negaitve Nancies…The Lions didn’t win a single playoff game between 1957 and 1991. A little simple arithmetic tells me 2025 is gonna be freaking awesome.

              • Was trying to post a link from mlive but I give up, it doesn't want to work.

Okudah had a great day which it talked about. Didn't mention that he played 18 snaps as an in the box safety though which was a great help to the run defense.

Paschal played the most snaps on the line along with Hutchinson and had a good but not great day. Quite a few good plays but some mistakes too. To be expected for his first game without a camp. PFF graded him a 64. Cominsky didn't play much with a club cast on his hand.

                • Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is on his way to clearing concussion protocol and is expected to play vs. the Dolphins.

                  • Detroit Lions waive receiver, return specialist Maurice Alexander

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have waived wide receiver and kickoff return specialist Maurice Alexander to open the week.

Alexander was signed from the team’s practice squad ahead of the 24-6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. He logged three offensive snaps and another five reps on special teams. Alexander was signed from the team’s practice squad ahead of their game against the New England Patriots in Week 5 and released the Monday after the game that week, too. So, he’s been through this routine and should be expected back in Allen Park barring outside interest. The former All-USFL kick returner handled five kickoffs across three games for 129 yards, with an average of 25.8 and a long attempt of 47 yards.

The Lions have receivers on Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Reynolds, Kalif Raymond and Tom Kennedy on their roster. DJ Chark (ankle) and Quintez Cephus (foot) are on injured reserve, with Stanley Berryhill, Josh Johnson and Brandon Zylstra on the practice squad. Zylstra was elevated for the game in Dallas, logging nine plays on special teams.
St. Brown (concussion protocol) exited in the first quarter of the team’s Week 7 loss. But it sounds optimistic for St. Brown’s status ahead of this weekend’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Chark is out for at least another three weeks, while it sounds like it could be a bit before Cephus returns.

“He’s in the protocol. But he’s certainly trending the right way,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said of St. Brown on Monday. “No, he cleared (during the game). He cleared. But it’s, he’s in the protocol just to go through the process of it. But I would anticipate us having him this weekend.”

                    • Wow, given the rubbish non-replay view a couple days ago, I have no idea if this is Lions-related at all ... but I'm watching WWE NXT (yeah yeah yeah) ... they have a tag team match where the ref missed a tag ... some team wins ... but they re-start the match cuz another ref comes in and says that the first ref missed a tag ...

Ok whatever ... but then the announcer says "but hey, unlike the NFL, we TRY to make it right here in the WWE and NXT"

I thought that was pretty funny

Reading between the lines of what’s been reported… it certainly sounds like Paschal will make his NFL debut vs Dallas or Miami. Soon!!
I was not. This is two different scenarios to me.

I'm hoping they get better over the season. So far Holmes has added Sewell and St. Brown, I haven't been impressed by the free agent additions and I'm unimpressed with the drafting of these injured players. That has been a pet peeve of mine with the Lions for a long time.

I do not like drafting injured players especially if you are taking a pass on any impact players in free agency. And for fucks sake get a damn kicker.

He's a punter. You sign when it is offered. Especially if someone offers you more then any other punter in history.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

We need speed badly. He is suffering from not being able to seperate there. That's not going to be better here. We need speed. He doesn't help there.

Lions sign C.J. Moore off Texans practice squad

Safety C.J. Moore is back with the Lions.

Moore spent the last three seasons with the Lions, but he was released off injured reserve in early September. Moore signed with the Texans practice squad, but he re-signed with the Lions and returned to Detroit’s active roster on Tuesday.

Moore made 45 appearances for the Lions over the last three years. He played almost all of his snaps on special teams the first two seasons, but saw more time on defense during the 2021 campaign. He had 36 tackles and an interception in those appearances.

The Lions also announced that they have signed safety J.R. Reed to their practice squad. Defensive lineman Bruce Hector was released to make room for him.
