Both Seibert and Patterson were awful in camp. Seibert won the competition. Holmes made a rookie mistake getting cheap with Prater.

Pretty sure he means Demetrius Taylor. I'd temper my expectations for a guy whose name can't be remembered.

The problem with Prater is he's 38 and injured. I agree it was probably better to keep him but it's not like he's a building block for a franchise.

What is with this building block nonsense? Not everything is about building blocks. They have had at least 6 kickers since they made that rookie mistake to try and save money and it is a never ending banana peel.

I like what they’re going to do with Thomas starting opposite of Harris allowing Hutch to move around. I don’t work for PFF and can confirm but I’ve read that Hutch has been one of the most double teamed players in the league.

If that’s true it’s cool they can move him around. Getting Paschal and the Okwara’s back would also help.

The younger one has been back and bites harder then Hutch. Maybe Romeo will display better discipline when he gets healthy.

For Kicker? I mean he missed, a couple, his last year here (I can't say I have kept up on him since), but, until you HAVE better, why rush him out the door? Kickers are always one of your highest scorers on your team. Kickers are people too you bawbags

I remembered Demetrius Taylor. That's why I knew who he was talking about. Hopefully he does well.

The assumption is that they'll find one by the time they are ready to contend.

There was NOTHING stopping the Lions from looking and trying out people WHILE they had one. Hell, that's how they found Prater to begin with, while Hanson was still on the roster.

At the end of the day, I just don't think Campbell or Holmes put much emphasis on the position. They figured they'd mostly be going for it on 4th down in those situations where a big leg could potentially get them three, so they let Prater go. Then Campbell found himself in such a situation, and realized it's a LOT harder to slap his nuts on the table than he thought.

It cost them, and it's going to keep costing them.
