Malcolm Rodriguez made an incredible play in his rookie debut against one of the best centers to ever play the game.
      That's MaRod!

Incredible play? He got blocked and threw the guy down 5 yds off of the LOS.

Don't get me wrong. It looks like he is going to be a good player and it is fun to watch a kid that just loves to play football and hit people, but this was not an incredible play. He made much better plays than this in the game.

      • Yeah he definitely lost that play.

        • I dunno if I'd say he "lost" the play; it wasn't really going in his direction to begin with, and he fought an NFL OT largely to a push and forced the play further outside. That's... pretty much the best you can hope for from anyone outside of an All-Pro linebacker.

That said, "meeting expectations" really isn't something to celebrate regardless of the extracurriculars.

It was just too fun too watch. and really the toss accentuated being taken out the play.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

                • That guy he tossed was All-pro Center Travis Kelce who out weighs him by 60 lbs and 6"

                  • Campbell says the NFL told him they missed the intentional grounding on Hurts. In a 3 point loss that stings.

                    • They missed an obvious face mask on a sack on Goff too thaat would have given the Lions a first down on a drive I believe we ended up punting on.

But, as a Detroit team, you have to play above that. We know it truly is Detroit vs everybody and every champion in the last 50 years has proven it. Hales, the Bad Boys, and to a lesser degree, the Goin to work Pistons, made it their rallying cry. The Bad Boys middle fingered the crap and just said, "That's all you got? Well, take this!"

So I agree, but we need to be above that crap.

For sure. Never can blame one play. Always missed calls. Lions had tons of chances.

Just sucks to hear them admit it. Nothing comes of it.

I don't disagree - but they admitted to one.

I mentioned them in the game thread when it was happening. Not sure if they were all on the same drive but within 7 minutes or so I saw at least 3 uncalled groundings. This one would be the most obvious. But two I questioned if they even made it to the LOS, one in the pocket where there wasn't even a player from the eagles on that side of the field.

The NFL might have felt an apology was needed for one of them but they were actively avoiding calling them all game. Basically every time there was good pressure he was able to illegally get rid of the ball with impunity.
