I was highlighting their Height and weight. All 3 are the same (practically). But as you can see, 1 was drafted in the second rd. 1 was drafted in the third. And we got our guy in the sixth. 100 picks after Dean was selected. Good value.
When watching these 3, they all play very similarly, but Nakobe Dean was the most desired of the three because he played with Georgia. I personally think any of the 3 could have played in Dean's spot with Georgia and you wouldn't see any difference.
Good job by the Holmes and the scouts.Originally posted by FutureshockIDK if you know anything about this guy. I get making the assumption based on when he was drafted, but he was their 5th selection. And the LBs need more speed and talent in that group.
What helps this kid is he is really good in coverage and tackling. He's Nakobe Dean with better speed and coverage skills. He is also a ++ ST that will play all 4 phases there. With the lack of LBs on the team IDK how he does not make it. I think he, and the Problem, will be very good in the various sub packages. I would give him a 80% chance to make the team. What other LBs do we have that can cover anyone but the 2 rookies? None. He makes the team.
What people used to think of 3rd down personnel is now being used more then your 1st string maulers. The only thing that is a negative with this kid is his size. He's strong. He's quick enough to make plays sideline-to-sideline. He tackles really well. However, there are times he can get washed away in a group. That's his one negative.
If you go back and look at how he was viewed around the league, he was viewed well.
And He just makes plays

MALCOLM RODRIGUEZLB, OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS
Oklahoma State senior LB Malcolm Rodriguez had 36 reps on the bench press at his Pro Day.
Rodriguez (5'11"/232) went off on the bench press at the Oklahoma State Pro Day, benching a ridiculous 36 reps. That was four more than ANYONE at the NFL combine, including linemen 100+ pounds heavier than him. The closest was Boston College G Zion Johnson with 32, and the closest LB was Chad Muma with 27. Bench press is much less subjective than the 40-yard dash, so there's not much faking going on here, he is just extremely strong. Bench press isn't usually the most valued combine drill, but any sort of outlier number is going to noticed. Combined with a good 40 time for his weight (his 4.52 ranked fourth at the combine), a nearly 40-inch vertical (ranked fifth at the combine) and a 10 foot broad jump, the explosive ability really shows out with Rodriquez.

Where's my jersey!!!Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

I hope Rodriguez keeps the confidence and momentum going because he just looks like he’s making plays. The LB isn’t great to begin with but the kid is definitely elevating the room.F#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

By Jeremy ReismanJust days before Hamilton was cut, the Lions ran a player-led practice. No positional coaches were on the field, meaning it was up to the players to run drills and make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing. Notably, it was Hamilton who had the play-card in his hands for the defense and was directing his position group. Perhaps that’s where the Lions saw his potential there."Your division isn't going through Green Bay it's going through Detroit for the next five years" - Rex Ryan

I remember when Zach Thomas was first drafted in the 5th round by the Dolphins in Jimmy Johnson's first year. His profile was similar to Rodriguez, he was slated to be a special teams player and he won the starting job fairly quickly. That dumbass Skip Bayless said Johnson was biding his time until he gets a better linebacker. Spoiler alert, that wasn't the case and eventually Thomas will be going to Canton.
I would never project any player to be a 7 time All Pro, that isn't realistic but there are some similar traits in the early going in how he won the job and how the coaches talk about him. But all of that means nothing if he looks like Ernie Sims when the real football starts.

10 wins if:
- Extreme injury luck. Specifically Goff and the OTs.
- The offense is as good, if not better, than what Lions beat reporters have said in camp.
- Hutchinson is a stud.
- A few other defense starters are randomly good. McNeill, Okudah, and a LB (Barnes or Rodriguez) in particular.
- NFC is as weak as people expect it to be. The NFC probably has to be weaker than that! Other teams experience bad injury luck like the Lions did last season.
Some of this won’t come true. So my 8-9 prediction is the right one!AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill
