        Detroit Lions fans won't see rookie wide receiver Jameson Williams or rookie defensive lineman Josh Paschal on the field until October at the earliest.

        The team had to get from 85 players on the roster to 80 by today's 4 p.m. deadline, and got there by moving some players from Active/NFI and Active/PUP to the reserve status for both lists, and by releasing veteran linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton.

        Both Williams and Paschal haven't taken part in training camp or the preseason as they've been rehabbing injuries.

        Williams tore his ACL in the college National Championship Game in January while he was playing for Alabama. He's been on NFI (non-football injury) because the injury happened while he was in college.

          Damn it! I can't find that video of Millenball. It was a spoof of Moneyball but with Matt Millen and the Lions. It was hilarious!

            It was a funny or die video. But I think it was before their format change and was lost to the ether, I spent like a whole day searching for it last year and failed.

                My favorite spoof was the one where the fake Mornhinweg was being interviewed and he was asked why the Lions were so terrible. I think he maybe said something about injuries or whatever ... so the interviewer said yes but sometimes teams band together and rise above the troubles and win anyways, right? Fake Mornhinweg deadpans "well not this team ... not this team". Hilarious

                  Levi's rehab going at a "snail's pace" according to MCDC. Doesn't sound very positive to me. He's going to struggle to make an impact with no pre-season/camp. Another R2 horror show.

                      Hindsight is lovely but there were red flags all over that one. Injured a lot. Barely played COVID season. Back issues. I'm getting PTSD with Paschal too.

                        Let's see, Bryant was a forgotten man for a couple seasons because of his injuries, now he is wrecking fools. It doesn't look good right now for Levi.

                            DT Malcolm Brown working out with the Lions. He wouldn't be cheap cheap, so I'm guessing Levi's injury is probably gonna see him missing time.

                              The Lions had free agent defensive tackle Malcom Brown in Detroit for a visit Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

                              Brown spent two seasons with Lions head coach Dan Campbell and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn in New Orleans.

                              The Jaguars cut Brown on Aug. 17.

                              They had acquired him in a trade with the Saints last season, and he started all 17 games for Jacksonville in 2021. Brown totaled 57 tackles and two sacks last season.

                              The Patriots made Brown a first-round selection in 2015, and he signed with New Orleans as a free agent in the 2019 offseason. He has 304 tackles, 13.5 sacks, a forced fumble and four fumble recoveries in his career.

                                I think if they do bring him in they will put Levi on the PUP. Hales, he may end up there regardless.
