Sorry to see Hock go but the tear down is still ongoing. Just hope to see a couple of more wins this season.

Any thoughts on which FA acquisitions by the Lions worked out well? Maybe some minor show-me contracts, but who has had enough impact to warrant the cost?
Seems to me that those teams that "hit" big in rounds 4-7 are the ones that really improve their team. (Dak Prescott # 135, Tom Brady # 199). Maybe the BB method of hoarding a lot of lower picks is the way to go.

The most efficient part of the Patriots success other than lucking into Brady is they were very efficient in finding and churning mid to low level free agents. Also, great scavengers on finding distressed older players like Randy Moss and Corey Dillon and getting value out of them. The prove it contracts are good, but the key is not spending too much on them when they prove it, rather finding the next guys to prove it. That's an endless churn.
Hoarding picks is also a good strategy but people focus far too much on that.

The Chark contract was all sorts of terrible. He was injured last year, he is I jured this year. He cost 10 million dollars and it hurts them the next two seasons even though he isn't under contract.

Overall, I’d say Holmes has been a net negative when comes to free agency. It’s been mostly bargain shopping with these misses though. The strategy of re-signing their own players and relying on the draft helps explain the poor record 2 years in. 2023 and 2024 are huge offseasons for Holmes.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

If any of you have Sirius Radio, tune into the NFL station and rewind to 1:15 pm EST. They had Dan Miller and talked about the Lions for over 30 minutes. Really good listen.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

At least we can add another couple of years to the rebuild.
They may become a. 500 team in another decade or two.
Looking forward to the I-75 eyes. This season is over. The locker room will figure it out really soon. .

So who is left from the Quinn era? Decker and Ragnow? That's it. I guess who we get from the picks from sell offs and comp picks like Joseph kinda count. But that era was brutal. And still haunts us now.
After this year it is a wrap though. 3 years of off seasons should be able to field a .500 team. The rule is NFL teams turn over a third of their roster every year so after three years both DC and BH need to be gone.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice.
