I'm not trying to defend the Lions. He's a good player ... but he would've wanted huge money and he's not worth it. Dominates once per season and is hurt too much. Never became the blocker he was billed to be. Most here didn't want the Lions to pay him ... so what else?
Here's what he is ... he's Kittle and Kelce ... when their prime years are gone. That's what Hock is forever
Also Campbell wasn't some star TE ... he was a grit guy. Doesn't matterWHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

Hock and 2 4ths for a 2nd and 3rd doesn't seem like great value but if the Lions were going to let him walk then it makes sense I guess.
My problem though is Hock is talented. Lions don't have much talent. Letting talent walk is questionable. However maybe its best considering what he wants for a salary.
I didn't see this coming within the division. It certainly seems as if the Lions have accepted they are not talented enough to compete this year.
DC and BH will get a pass through this year, from Sheila (not the fans clearly) but have to be on a very short leash next season. This does not seem to help them next year. They now have another huge hole to fill and are bringing less talent forward.

Being in the Lions front office must be an incredible grift.
What other team in the NFL would let you waste two years "tearing it all down," before even beginning to expect anything in terms of results? I mean, at this point, these clowns now have a ready made excuse when Year 3 fails. "We just finished the ripping down part! You have to be patient while we rebuild! You gotta!"
I now fully expect the #1 pick is going to spent on a QB, and Goff let go, just so Holmes and Campbell will have another "Get out of Jail Free" card. "We were working with a rookie QB in the first year of a rebuild! This is why we were given 5 and 6 year deals, remember?"
Sheila will fall for it. Rubes like kreton will fall for it. And the Same Ol' Lions will continue.Last edited by chemiclord; November 1, 2022, 04:21 PM.

Hock had that big game and a few other nice plays ... butthe most explosive I've seen a Lions TE look this season was Brock Wright. Don't remember which game. Oh well. He's caught 6 balls on 6 targets. Throw him the ball a bitWHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

This is good business (from the Lions standpoint) - but at the end of the day they need to get guys who can do a job with those picks.
For the Vikings? They are pretty much all-in on this season. Packers suck, might as well try to do your best to make a run. Future draft picks can't help them in an obvious season of opportunity.Last edited by Fraquar; November 1, 2022, 04:23 PM.
