Can you point to the franchises that have done this approach and are winning big?

I am not happy with anything right now. These guys act like they're operating in a static environment. Like everything will be ok until they are a better team. It just don't work like that. The world continues to get better and we needed Campbell and his "ideals" to be better. He has been better, but the players don't seem to be progressing.
There's no consistency. Well, not for the good things. He still misses the "details" of the game in what falls to a HC. Like fighting the refs for your team. If they crew you, let em have it. just standing their looking like you have I-75 eyes can not happen. YOU must fight for your team. No, the players shouldn't worry about that stuff because YOU are supposed to do it. But no, "We have to play better." is what I can see playing in his beady head every time. No matter how bad they screw you. Next time he tells me we need to be better I would say, yeah you too.
We NEEDED to get some positive momentum (and maybe it's not too late, but I don't see it this year) out of this year. Our guys NEEDED to KNOW we are just players away from contention. Now they have to wonder what the hell is it all about and for.
The worse part? Canning these jokers may, may be not, be the longest route to having a better team. And we may be forced to watch Decker, Ragnow, Sewell, etc.. walk in FA right when the next FO gets their crap together. IF they get their crap together.
In this case everyone is right and everyone is wrong because Sheila signed us up for a longterm plan in a situation that longterm plans don't exist. Maybe they'll let us keep our guys for 7 years instead of 5?Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Foolish. Change or f it. There's no need for any of us to watch until 2025 and the second next regime.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

The Pats "drafting strategy" was lucking into Tom Brady.
The Rams have actively been tossing draft picks at anyone willing to take them for established veterans.
The Bills most recent retooling saw them go from a 6 win team to a 13 win team in two offseasons, which is exactly what I'm saying should happen, not you.
About the only hope you have for the Lions is that they replicate the Bengals. And even then, they went from a 2 win team to a 10 win team... in two offseasons!Last edited by chemiclord; October 31, 2022, 11:10 AM.

No way in hale are we able to sign them all and THAT regime falls apart too. Unfortunately, it is this or else. Starting over now is just dooming the next regime for failure.
