He had a stroke and came back for awhile, but he swore off football and was all into F1.

Cool. This current iteration of the team has pieces. Hate to break it to you, but every team, no matter how poor, has pieces. Hell, even Matt Millen hit the dartboard a few times.
At the end of the day, getting to .500 is the easy part of team building. You have to pretty much actively fight the current to stay in the basement in the NFL. Why the hell should I be impressed right now? Why are you so hellbent on making me believe?
Because spoiler alert; I won't. I refuse to believe. They have to prove it. They did not prove it last Sunday."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

I wasn't on the forums at the time but I remember they came off a blowout win over Denver to get to 6-2 and I sure thought they had turned the corner. So what do we have to see, a playoff win? Jacksonville was a few minutes away from the Super Bowl and then promptly fell apart, as though getting even that far still wasn't turning the corner.
Another good test would be missing your top two offensive weapons, and demonstrating the depth to beat a team.
Basically, when wins come more than once in a blue moon, we can revisit where they are at. Campbell and Holmes's record here in Detroit is 4-15-1. Let's get a team that is sitting around .500, then we can worry about where we go from there.Last edited by chemiclord; October 1, 2022, 12:21 AM.

Well. They were 6-2. Undefeated at home, splitting their road games. Just as you hope for. Their 2 losses were blowouts but they were coming off a blowout win vs Denver.
But apparently after this 6-2 start it took them 47 losses before they compiled another 6 wins.
We can say they won 5 of those 6 games with luck, and looking at what came next, that's probably right. But that means we need to consider the possibility that the 2022 Lions have lost due to bad luck. I am not predicting a 47-6 stretch. What I am saying is that even people who had us going to the playoffs at 10-7 saw us at 1-2 at this point. With a little bit of luck we could easily be 3-0. I'm not giving up on the season. I've been a pessimist lately but this team has exceeded my expectations. It will be interesting to see what happens. If we do climb to 3-2 before the bye, chemic will find something to bitch about. That's the only guarantee we have."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

In the sense that there's always going to be flaws to address for any team regardless of record, sure.
If they are 3-2 at the bye week, it'll mean they demonstrated their depth by winning without their top two offensive performers, and then won a game on the road in a notoriously hostile environment. I don't know what I'd be all that pissed about, but go ahead and put words in my mouth if it'll make you feel better that they're far more likely to be 1-4 going into the bye than 3-2.
We got a glimpse of the Swift-less, Sun God-less offense in the 4th quarter last Sunday, and that offense was abysmal. Someone is going to need to fill the vacuum. Theoretically, they've got a handful of names with the potential to do so, at least at wideout. I dunno where they're going to get the running game from.
Barring the offense stumbles, the defense is going to need to take a massive stride forward, and I just don't see where that step is going to come from.Last edited by chemiclord; October 1, 2022, 12:43 PM.

I think most of us had them beating Seattle and we were 50/50 on the Patriots game. That's what I'm seeing as most probable."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."
