Normally they only ask teams who weren’t in the playoffs year earlier. Oh yeah Lions weren’t. Just seemed like they were. Lol
I think the series has jumped the shark.
The lions had to much focusing on the coaches and not the players.
I personally didn’t give a fuck about the coaches yelling at each other.
Really? I thought last year was epic. Watching the coaches get after it was something completely different than what we’ve ever seen. Our coaching staff was / is put together the right way and it was on full display.
And you can’t script Hutch’s song. All of it was perfect

It took James Houston some time to find a place in the Lions defense as a rookie, but he made the most of the chance once it came.
Houston was a sixth-round pick who wound up on the practice squad after failing to make the team out of training camp. He was elevated to the active roster in Week 12 and recorded two sacks to kick off an unexpected run of success as a pass rusher.
Houston had eight sacks while playing 140 defensive snaps in the final seven games of the year and that puts him squarely in the team’s plans for the 2023 season. The size of his role in those plans isn’t set in stone, however, and Houston wants to convince the powers that be that he can do more than just rush the passer.
“For me, I’ve got to get on the field,” Houston said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “I don’t know what that looks like, but I got to figure something out. Just like last year, it was just like they didn’t really know where to put me. I feel like it’s kind of similar, the same way. They don’t really know where to put me, and so I’m kind of that guy, hopefully I can be a chess piece and not too much of a liability, I guess, where I really can only play one position, where you can move me in different ways and put me on the field. So that’s really my goal, to get the team to be able to trust me enough to get to that point.”
Charles Harris and Julian Okwara are also going to be vying for snaps at the same linebacker spot as Houston once the Lions get back to work at training camp this summer.
I’m not expecting much from Harris this year. Houston needs to be on the field

He's a good depth piece that the Lions were able to bring back for pennies on the dollar. When he agreed to the pay cut he took, it was largely a no-brainer to sign him up again.

With Okwara out last year it was his time. I know he got hurt but the 6 games he played he was a non factor. Pennies on the dollar is fine by me but I don’t see him in Detroit after this year

Depends on the season he has
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

Romeo O, Julian O, Charles Harris....Do you see any of these three being on the team next year? Will any of them play more than 10 games this year?
The one move that I wish the Lions wouldn’t have made was trading Okudah. Witherspoon was prob our pick but without them drafting a CB I’d rather have him back than a 5th rounder.

If Romeo is back to himself it’s going to be a tough year for opposing QBs. He’s a legit DE that can get to the QB opposite Hutch.
Harris is a good player to keep around but he won’t be here next year. I’m still surprised the Lions didn’t take Tyree Wilson in the draft. He’d have been my pick

I still think pass rush looks like a weakness. Houston was a pleasant surprise, but there’s tape on him out there now and his sack to snap ratio is unsustainable. Hutch should improve and Romeo was looking impressive prior to injury.
It doesn’t compare favourably with Philly or the Niners who we should be looking to compete against.
I’d be tempted to offer Washington a 3rd or 4th for Chase Young.

F’ing right. I’d go after Chase all day long for a mid rounder. He moves the needle for sure
