I didn't like his body language when Goff didn't throw one to him when he was open. I don't know about the other stuff. This shouldn't affect the draft strategy, 6 games sucks but they were good offensively without him. You have to temper the urge the overreact, but this is bad.

No need to rush, but you're also now fully counting on Marvin Jones to fill the Chark role. When Chark was back healthy with Amon-Ra, that's when the offense really took off. His downfield threat was real - now they don't have him or Williams.

They could go out and sign some minimum vet but I'd sit tight, stick to their draft gameplan. They can always pick up a vet after the draft or see if anything shakes loose from other teams.

The DoD guys were talking about Williams yesterday and dancing around maturity issue questions. Don't know if they knew this was coming down or not. They weren't highly concerned, I think they put it at 3/10, but it wasn't zero either. Regardless of what his future holds, he definitely seems to have some growing up to do. Maybe this will be the kick in the ass he needs.

And some of what they even mentioned was, a lot of the guys that have been brought in (Hutch, Sewell, St. Brown, Paschal, Rodrigo) are hard standards to hold other young guys against because they are 100% all the time, and Williams just has a different vibe to him and so there's a contrast.

I noticed the body language on that play as well. I figured, and still do, that it would not be a problem once he started getting some regular reps. If you're only getting into a game for three plays any missed opportunity would be frustrating.

And this won't change the draft. The Lions appear to be BPA all the way, so I doubt that this would change their philosophy

Even if you did draft a receiver it's unlikely they'd have a huge impact in their first six games. There's no added reason to draft a WR. If you do it's just because you never have enough in the first place and you wind up with them as the best on the board.
