I actually have a hot water boiler for a furnace but I call a HVAC person if something goes wrong because for some reason I feel comfortable with everything but Natural Gas and flames (not sure what you burn in England for fuel, probably something cool and earthy like the garbage from piccadilly square and the excess sweat from the parliment members).

I am used to being laughed at but soon, I will want to upgrade to the latest and greatest.

Starting with phone. Currently with Verizon but, the Droid interests me and can get one with a better plan from Mobil 1 who claims to have G4.

Any suggestions ( and speak in English so an old fart can understand.)?

Always check coverage maps for your area and make sure T-Mobile will offer you sufficient coverage if you were to switch. Also check into other carriers, they all have Androids now. If you want to know about Sprint Androids and 4G, send me a PM...I'm full of information ;)

Speaking of T-Mobile...

I went with them back in December and have been very happy. Their customer service is really exceptional in comparison to reaching BFE in some distant country with other carriers. Also, I just called them last week to point out that I really don't need an unlimited talk package like I thought and they happily downgraded me without demanding a contract extension.

um cough we have had system booting across the wire for years and now for the past oh 10 years many virtual servers boot from SAN.

sorry google nothing really new except for folks in their home.

That is a little bit different though. Booting across the wire you are still booting a whole system. It sounds like what google's OS is doing is just booting a bare bones OS that loads up a browser and then nothing else unless you load it. Its a far cry from Windows which boots everything into its memory.
