as much as I hate apple, an ipad may work out for you, since it can read e-books in every format. this would give you a much larger selection of books to choose from

I've weighed the IPad Vs. Kindle, and the two things that I think are leaning me towards the Kindle are 1, Price and 2, the face that there is no glare and It looks more like paper vs. the glossed look of the IPad. I read alot from my computer as is, my father (as well as myself) are aspiring novelists so we proof read back and fourth, therefore i think the non-book feeling I could adjust to pretty quick!

The main complaint I saw about the Slate was that it'd run Windows 7 horribly with only 1gb of ram. Of course, other people said they run Win 7 with 1gb of ram fine. I'd prefer they stick 2gb of ram into it and up the price a bit.

Something like the Slate would be total overkill if you just want an e-reader. It sounds like those of you who have a kindle really like it. I've been thinking about getting one for my dad. They were visiting here a few weeks ago, and he kept hauling his laptop over to the sofa to read his ebooks.

When I haven't said word one to anyone other than the stewardess, sorry, flight service attendant, while always having my computer, newspaper, magazine (or a Kindle type device these days) glued to my face, it probably means I don't wish to speak to the passengers around me.

And btw, can you please move your FN arm off of my armrest while you're not speaking to me.
