Rommy, be sure to test the viewing distance thing as well as the side view when you go to the store.

Don't you just love Deflation....
BTW I have a Vizio 42in 120HZ LCD version for the scrolling text.
You can see the difference between 720p and 1080p for sure
Vizio cons review: side viewing angles aren't as good as the sony, the black isn't as black as the Sony and Samsungs, Remote is very chincy (super thin and you have to keep pressing the buttons, get more noise on the side and top when the source is trying to upscale to 1080p from a non 1080p.
Good price and the new 120HZ versions look better without that goofy speaker bar the older models have.Brand New Detroit Lions

At about 10 mins after 4:00pm, with almost an hour of daylight left, I spotted Venus. From Florida, it bears about 200 degrees (SSW) off the compass, and 65 degrees up off the horizon. From Michigan, it would be lower.------------

Re: Facebook...
I haven't started one of those facebook thingys because I thought they were kind of silly - I don't care to be "friends" with a bunch of freaks, geeks, and losers that hang out on the web looking for "friends."
But I am curious about its value in finding old friends from college, or kids that I used to go to school with that left our class before we all graduated, or other people I've known in the past and have lost track of.
Nick posted that he's caught up with a lot of friends he lost touch with using it, just wanted to see if others have experience with the site...The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

Funny thing about the "freaks, geeks, and losers" comment - every forumite attending the Forum game for the first time experiences that apprehension...
But my point was that I don't have a lot of interest in "meeting" a bunch of people with whom I don't have some interest in common, such as my pathetic interest in the Lions. The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

I added a facebook, mainly to be able to chek up on my daughter from time-to-time to make sure she is being responsible with her page (these things can't haunt you later in life, but kids don't realize that). I was quite surprised to see how many of my friends were on it. It makes it a lot easier to keep up with the out-of-towners (at least those who update theirs regularly).
And like Nick said, I had a couple people I hadn't heard from in 15 years pop up and add me, which was kinda cool. All in all, I don't mind Facebook as I only add people I know already and am always harping on my daughter to make sure she does the same. When she started a "MySpace" page (MySpace sucks, by the way), she had like 300 "friends", so I sat down with her and forced her to tell me, one-by-one, how she had met each "friend" in the real world. After about 20-30 "I don't knows", I forced her to delete her page. We then compromised on the Facebook thing as long as she was responsible and also added her mom and me as her "friends. I don't nitpick her page or comment on it at all. Just the presence of her mom and I as "friends" has seemed to be reminder enough for her to be more responsible with it.Last edited by gv laker; January 5, 2009, 11:01 AM.My hipocracy goes only so far.
