  • I'm the same way, DanO. I carry it all the time but just for emergencies or very infrequent use. Doesn't make sense to pay $40 or more a month for that.

As to cost, it depends on how you figure it. I do their by-the-minute plan and it works out to 15 cents a minute. There are no extra charges or expirations as long as you make one call a month. Since I so rarely use it, my minutes last forEVER.

            • With my Trac fone
I had to travel 20+ Miles in order for it not to be 2 units for one minute.

                        • Got me one of those Trac Phones with T-Mobile Service. Bought a 1000 minutes, good for a year, including the phone for $90.00. Can't beat it.

Have had no problem with the service in Florida, Vegas, Detroit or Mass. Course I don't use it unless I travel or for an emergency on road. Don't think I've used 300 minutes in 10 months.

                          Real happy with it!

Does anyone here have T-Mobile and live in those regions? I'd love to hear what a real person has to say about it.

So your saying I'm not a real person?

                            • Larsky you can quote JD Power all you want but T-mobile has very spotty coverage. You'll be fine as long as you are in:
                              A) Major city
                              B) Along a major interstate
                              C) In an area they have a roaming agreement

My experience with T-mobile was identical to Loopy's. Great customer service, shitty coverage. Until you've had the phone in your home, place of work and places you want to make phone calls scouring a JD Power website doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

Just curious if you're a Mac guy why you aren't waiting for the I-phone?
