    • Jupiter has been out the last several nights and it has been spectacular. I wish I had a telescope, but binoculars have done the trick. With them, I can essentially see the body rather than an undistict point of light. It's the first time I've seen any planet like that myself.

      • How about Jupiter getting a hole the size of Earth punched into it from a meteor or comet or something?

        • I was reading about that. This is shortly after amature photos came out of the broken up comet 15 years ago. The newly discovered hole is apparently expanding.

Thats the kind of Sci-Fi shit I have always wanted more of in our Solar System. I wonder what kind of long term effects that will have on Jupiter and what impact will it have on Earth.

            • Got a new laptop a week and a half ago, A friend works at Best Buy and let me know of a crazy deal. One of the gateway gaming laptops (FX Series) was going on close out, and was available on in his store in Michigan for a crazy price.

              Got this

Find the latest drivers, downloads, and help for all your Gateway, Packard Bell, and eMachines products.

For $574.99. Almost cheaper then some Netbooks. The only major differences between that and the new versions selling for more, is that the new ones have slightly faster CPU's and one has a higher resolution (which in my view while cool it puts more pressure on the video card, thought this card is top notch).

This guy thinks you should have paid $2,000 for a slower, less well equipped Mac.

It's probably a good thing there isn't more. Or, because there isn't more, we haven't been blasted into obliveon. ;)

                      • I guess that collisions of that type aren't that rare with Jupiter. Jupiter is so massive it has a couple of objects from the kuiper belt that orbit it like comets, and sometimes get pulled into it because of its gravitational pull.

                        • Speaking of planetary stuff - this one's been around the intertubes quite a bit, but in case you haven't seen it, it's pretty fun stuff:

The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

Yeah even if I liked Apple products to begin with, it's not to hard to find a reason not to get their computers. Its horrible some of the prices I have seen of theirs.

                              • In Apple's defense - they have begun to actually lower their price points (selectively) to be more competitive. It's not across the board and I still counter that I can build bigger, better, faster, but it's a start.
