    thanks for that site ULF. I am trying to compress the video I shot of graduation to put on a cd to send to my folks. We don't have a dvd burner...

    Any idea what format will work best to compress from .mpg?

                        Most everybody has Roxio or Nero or even powerDVD.

                        DVD43 will work with any of those and you can backup all (most) of you DVD's.

                            Geeky thing: Just got a hard drive for my TV.

                            Actually the DVR I use just had an update and now supports external storage....yay. It's just about perfect now. I'm glad I didn't shell out the money for the new TiVo.

                              Anyone had any experience with those "Thumb" memory sticks. Just bought a "Kingston" 4GB USB2.0 Data Traveler. Great price-but do they really work?
