I've grown tired of my iPhone 4 (3G) and have decided to try an Android phone (since I've never had one before which, as an IT guy, is a gap in my knowledge base).

Since my eyesight is getting worse I've decided to go with a bigger screen and have settled on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Anyone have any thoughts/experiences with it?

I just got the Note 2 a month ago. Wanted to hold out for the HTC ONE/SGS4/NOTE 3 ... but with the upgrade to 4.2.1 the bluetooth on my Galaxy nexus was screwing up and I couldn't wait.

HTC ONE is still the best looking phone out there now and the newly coming out phones all have 1080p going for them which can't be ignored ... but I'm quite happy with the Note 2 in the meantime. The screen is great and it's fast. After having stock Android on my g-nex ... I haven't been bothered by the switch to touchwiz at all.

One thing. If you get a screen protector ... get the right one. I've seen and heard bad stories from people having problems with the stylus combined with many screen protectors, not to mention the grainy look that some protectors give you. I ended up getting the spigen ultra crystal protector. Fingerprints are sometimes a problem ... but otherwise can't even tell it's on.

I'm thinking about putting a screen protector on my Galaxy S3 to reduce screen sensitivity. That thing is so sensitive that I'm constantly hitting <back> when I don't mean to, and other errant taps just from handling it around the edges.

Not positive but there could be settings that could reduce the screen sensitivity of your phone for certain things. Sounds like u should just handle the phone differently, not a problem you'd look to a screen protector to solve ... that could end up being frustrating in other ways.

That HTC one really is about the best looking and feeling phone I've seen. Catch 22 is that the aluminum could damage SO easily ... yet it'd be a shame to hide something that looks and feels so nice in a case.

There aren't any screen sensitivity adjustments, I've looked for it. It seems like my old LG Ally had it... Anyway, the screen comes so close to the edge that it's hard not to touch it. And sometimes, just passing over the screen on the way to something, you register a touch on the way. I swear sometimes there was not even any physical contact, perhaps static.

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and NHL 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html, try to download Tears 6.2, and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If those applications work as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0. Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources). In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Desperately seeking technical support! I'm currently running the latest version of Girlfriend 5.0 and having some problems. I've been running the same version of Drinking Buddies 1.0 for years as my primary application, and all the Girlfriend releases have always conflicted with it.

I hear that Drinking Buddies won't crash if you minimize Girlfriend with the sound off, but since I can't find the switch to turn it off, I just run them separately and it works OK. Girlfriend also seems to have a problem coexisting with Golfware, often trying to abort my Golf program with some sort of timing incompatibility.

I probably should have stayed with Girlfriend 1.0, but I thought I might see better performance with Girlfriend 2.0. After months of conflicts, I consulted a friend who has experience with Girlfriend 2.0. He said I probably didn't have enough cache to run Girlfriend 2.0 and eventually it would require a Token Ring upgrade to run properly. He was right.

As soon as I purged my cache, Girlfriend 2.0 uninstalled itself. Shortly after that, I installed a Girlfriend 3.0 beta. All the bugs were supposed to be gone, but the first time I used it, it gave me a virus.

After a hard drive clean up and thorough virus scan, I very cautiously upgraded to Girlfriend 4.0.- this time using a SCSI probe and virus protection. It worked OK for a while until I discovered Girlfriend 1.0 wasn't completely uninstalled! I tried to run Girlfriend 1.0 again with Girlfriend 4.0 still installed, but Girlfriend 4.0 has an unadvertised feature that automatically senses the presence of Girlfriend 1.0 and communicates with it in some way, resulting in the immediate removal of both versions!

The version I have now works pretty well, but, like all versions, there are still some problems. The Girlfriend package is still written in some obscure language that I can't understand, much less reprogram. And I've never liked how Girlfriend is totally object-oriented. A year ago, a friend upgraded his version to GirlfriendPlus 1.0, which is a Terminate-and-Stay-Resident version. He discovered girlfriendPlus1.0 expires within a year if you don't upgrade to Fiancee 1.0. So he did.

But soon after that, you have to upgrade to Wife 1.0, which he describes as a "huge resource hog." It has taken up all his space, so he can't load anything else. One of the primary reasons that he upgraded to Wife is that it came bundled with FreeSex 1.0. Well, it turns out that the resource allocation module of Wife 1.0 sometimes prohibits access to FreeSex (particularly the new Plug and Play items he wanted to try). On top of that, Wife 1.0 must be running on a well warmed-up system before he can do anything. And, although he did not ask for it, Wife 1.0 came with Mother-In-Law 1.0, which has an automatic pop-up feature he can't turn off.

I told him to install Mistress 1.0, but he said that he heard that if you try to run it without first uninstalling Wife, that Wife 1.0 will delete MSMoney files before uninstalling itself. Then Mistress 1.0 won't install anyway, due to insufficient resources.

Is anybody out there able to offer technical advice?
