Yeah if you don't mind open box products. Just after Christmas and the SB are the best times to get a TV.

I'm completely fine with open box items as long as there not any significant damages to anything that isn't cosmetic.

We use Hulu and Netflix for streaming but I was hoping to be able to watch the news or the Super Bowl over TV. :(

SLF - if you own a house you would need to invest in a house mounted antenna - and that's assuming you can get local channels in hi def. where I am, charter is required to carry and transmit the HD local channels "free of charge" with their analog cable package, the same can be picked up if I had a house mounted antenna....

Well, I think it is time for me to purchase a new computer. I've had a long run with my laptop, and I want something new that won't require selling a kidney. I use a computer mainly to surf the internet, compose word processing and spreadsheets, downloading music, and PowerPoint. I'm not into playing games on my computer, that's what my Xbox is for. If anyone has some suggestions of what I should look for in storage, ram, processor, etc I would greatly appreciate it.

No you need to get an HD antenna (built in antennas died 10+ years ago) preferably a powered one. You should then pickup a dozen or so channels with some of them having an hd and sd version.

Also you need your tv to scan the channels for it to unlock them.

Depends upon how far the TV Tower is as to what antenna to buy. I am about 30-35 miles, so the flat omni directional antenna was no good for me. I ended up buying a Clearstream 2V, an indoor antenna, but I put it in the attic and got 11 stations. I am going to streamline as well but havn't decided between Hulu Plus ot Netflix. I signed up this morning for the free trial of Netflix and watching Mission Impossible as we speak. Anyone using Hulu?

Thanks Shark. Living in the city, I'm less than 10 miles from the antennas. Plus there's no chance we are getting anything else.

We use Hulu and Netflix. I think they largely serve different niches. Hulu is better for current tv shows but Netflix is better for movies, old tv shows and documentaries.

I tried a month of Netflix - it seemed like everything I wanted to watch was "available on DVD only" so I canceled it.
