Figure this is long past but just got back to this thread and saw this question, was thinking about it myself, so thought I'd respond.

1. Sweet case and PC Coop, I have a virtual erection of pure envy.
2. Is there any data transfer lost on the USB 3.0 going through a riser card? I'm not sure how it works with the new boards but in the past always knew riser cards offered a performance hit so was curious.

Not really, the way boards and chipsets and sockets are designed there is so much leeway that there is almost no performance lost. The only thing to watch out for is the Manufacturer and chip used on the daughter board.

I mean even as recently as 2005 Where PCI was still in heavy use, for USB 1.0 it was more then enough bandwidth, for USB 2, a little bit underwhelming dependent on PCI population in the system, and how the Southbridge talked to the main chipset and CPU. Now with PCIe, a single lane, is 500MB/s That is only about 150MB/s less then the max potential of USB3. but it would be almost trivial to make a 2x card, and more then likely they would do 4x to be on the safe side. But information was never lost just potential wasted. Now I said less then max potential. But there isn't anything short of a SSD Raid array that could hook up to USB 3, that could saturate USB 3 connection on a 1x adapter.

Yeah I will definitely put it on one of my machines. I really wanted to wait to order anything new till Win8 came out, but I'm tired of waiting lol.

Depending on how easy it is to use, I'm thinking about trying to get the school I teach at to get tablet pc's for all the students (or just roll it into the tuition price). A lot of Japanese people are really computer illiterate still, because they only use their smart phones for surfing the internet, etc.
