Ordered a new desktop computer today. second generation i7, 12 GB of Ram, dual 24" hd ultrasharp monitors, 1.5 GB ram on the vid card. It will be nice to replace the 9 year old desktop that is ready to go to puter heaven (maybe before the new one gets here next friday!)

Why not? it's very cheap and he used the last one for nearly a decade. I would say that is better futureproofing then an i7 over an i5.

It was $80 to upgrade from 8GB. I figured it was a no brainer

I just had them put the clear film on top and then went with the official apple cover. http://www.apple.com/ipad/smart-cover/

It's cool that it turns the ipad on when you pull the cover back. The problem is that it gives no protection to the back. I already have a nice little dent when Tyler dropped it, but that's to be expected from a 17 month old.

Understand totally what you mean about the back not getting much protection with that magnetic cover LFIJ. It's very annoying. Got a few scratches on mine......, but I can't blame any kids, was my fault....., and that's only putting the thing on tables etc. You can get the ipad leather case envelope folder which I've got...... But you can't keep on putting it back in that everytime you need to stop for kitchen and toilet breaks.

I've only had it slip off if I have it open. It's pretty solid when all closed up.

Any links to that backing?

Perhaps a combo of the backing, film on the glass AND the official mag cover is the full proof cover.
