Thanks for the tip Larsky...have a flight coming up to Vancouver. First leg, we are all in the last row by the engines and the restrooms. 'Was dreading it. Going to check 'em out.
Thanks SLf! Been looking forward to this for awhile now. It is a snowboarding trip to Whistler. Taking wifey and my sons. I snowboard, along with my 19yr old, but the other two are village dwellers. We have been there once before and love the place. Last trip we connected in Seattle, but this one is through Denver.
We really love Vancouver, but won't stay there this time. Great city. In fact, my oldest thinks that is where he wants to live. That critter would have to pick a place so far away. He has adopted more of a "world view" than I ever had growing up within midwest boundaries.
Don't know on that one. I guess I'll find out. I know they were widening the Sea to Sky highway last time we were there (3 yrs ago), and that was being done so that they could bid for the 2010. I suspect that road will be a lot easier to travel this time.
When I was in Park City earlier this month, I toured the olympic center there. We went to the top of the ski jump...jebus, that was really high and steep.

The US ski jump training center is outside of Escanaba. My room mate from college was from escanaba, in high school he a few friends decided it would be a good idea to toboggan down the ski jump. Of course the had few in them at the time
Just got back from Whistler .... they are doing a lot of promoting for the Olympics. Visited a spot in Whistler Village that had a bunch of information to read ... plus a bobsled, skeleton, luge & other olympic items that you could see & touch.
The village is enormous ..... almost overwhelming. Skiing & boarding were pretty good. Visibility wasn't great most of the days and so bad at the peak late one afternoon i was scared about how to get down.
Good information Masspartan! Headed out this Sunday. I am looking forward to seeing how the village has grown in the past 3 years.
Larsky, I tried the Sennheiser PXC-250, but ended up taking them back. They did a decent job of blocking out the background noises, and I can see how they would be nice on a plane, but I really like the Shure E2c ear buds. They have great sound quality, and seem to block out noises well (they come with 3 types of fitments for your ear) although not with noise canceling. You don't have to have the sound up very high, and you have to be careful because the music is w-a-y too loud at higher levels, but at reasonable levels the music just fills your head, and blocks most everything out. It works for me anyway.
Thanks Mass! I'll check the Twist & Shout..out. I guess wifey will drag me to some nice restaurants. I don't know about the crepes....once went into a crepe restaurant in Atlanta and ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich...couldn't figure out who would want those funny little pancakes.
