Mysterious technology/geek problem here. Many years ago, my childrens playstation one was packed up and sent to the attic in a cardboard box. I remember being quite decent at a soccer game called FIFA 2001. I had the inclination to play it last weekend. I brought it all down from the attic, dusted it all down etc......., and it doesn't fucking work. It was in fine working order when it went to the attic 9 fkin years ago.

I didn't think I needed to plug it in. It's one of those solar powered playstations. Hmmmm, it was a cloudy day right enough. I'll try it again this weekend using electricity. Maybe there is some truth in Dano's speculations!
As for your speculations LFIJ......, I didn't even think of temperature, but definitely a possibility. When it's cold, it's even colder in the attic, and when it's hot, it's melting hot in the attic. This is why I came to the techno thread, for answers like that. Cheers. I'll tell my wife tonight, "yes honey, ye see, it's the ambient temperature of our attic, it's by no means at a constant at any one time, hence having an adverse affect on components." She likes it when I talk technical, and sounding like I know what I'm on about. Doesn't happen often."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

"Maybe there is some truth in Dano's speculations!"
----------------------I'm just messin' with ya. Hope you know that.
I think LFIJ has a very valid explanation. Probably got to hot fryed some components.

It's common for a hard drive not to spin up if it's not been in use for a while. Sometimes this can be corrected with a toaster oven:
Download DFIR tools, cheat sheets, and acquire the skills you need to success in Digital Forensics, Incident Response, and Threat Hunting. Prove you have the skills with DFIR Certifications and obtain skills immediately by finding the right digital forensics course for you
I wouldn't recommend this unless you have 'nothing to lose' but if you try it be sure to report how it worked out for you.
ps: Don't put the whole PS in the oven, just the drive ;)Suspicion breeds trust.

Now, will I get a playstation one in this nuwave oven Wings Fan? :D
I'm just joking Darl......, I'm going to get back to you on that advice at the weekend....., very busy week,......, and thanks for the info, to all.
Ok I have a boiler ( furnace) flue exhaust too close to the ground outside, labelled dangerous by gas authority......, there is no way of raising the boiler inside to make the outside clearance!! Useless Feckin pen pushing, suit wearing, bum licking wankers at the gas authority. It's not dangerous at all. I have a catalogue of pictures on my phone of boilers I've come across that really ARE dangerous! The worlds gone mad."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

Or pipe the exhaust higher maybe? I've never heard of boiler exhaust close to the ground. Did the nice man trying to save your life mention the clearance required? How much do you have?Benny Blades~"If you break down this team man for man, we have talent to compare with any team."
