  • We'll see if Verizon is more prepared than the death star....
    Got Kneecaps?

    • I'm curious. ATT has taken a lot of heat, lots of it justified, but lots of it by apple slappies unwilling to put part of the dropped calls blame on the apple design.

Will verizon get the same treatment or not...

Actually from everything I have heard even with the non-death grip "death grip" the Iphone 4 is experiencing less drop calls then the 3gs. Hate apple not a big fan of the Iphone but the 4 gets a bit of a bad rap, deserved for their attempts to hide ATT performance issues, but its a better device.

As for Verizon in the far the hell out there boonies that ATT doesn't cover at all the Verizon Iphone 4 will probably be a bit spotty compared to other Verizon phones like the Dx. But overall their network is a much more tightly woven network then ATT. To get their expansive GSM network up as fast as they did they had cut corners and sparsely place their towers. I am guessing Big red users will barely notice anything from the increase in users.

Also I wouldn't expect more then a casual adoption of the Verizon Iphone till the 5th gen is announced. Their is little reason for people to pony up for their ETF's or buy out of contract phones till then.

        • Iphone 4 is a great device. I'm more talking about the iphone 3's short comings being auto blamed on ATT. Now ATT deserved much of that, but not all of that.

Well I am not sure it can't be blamed on the network. Where do you draw the line between antenna strength and network issues? As far as I know the network issues then and now were an issue for almost all of their lines of phones. Obviously your going to hear more about 3's then any other phone because the 3 was and is the best selling and most used phone on any network in the big 4.

Not sure hand making the 4 to work better on the ATT network means the 3 had issues.

            • I've had ATT for a long time(started with Cingular) and have been pretty happy. I have good coverage overall and very few dropped call problems. I've had Verizon, Sprint and Nextel for work(probably a couple more...) All were at least as bad with Nextel being absolutely shitty.

I also have ATT, also since the cingular days and I almost never have issues with my service. In fact, Verizon has gone down a few times and I've been one of the lucky few with service.

                  • I just bought a new Samsung front load washer(18 months no interest). They and LG are the only two manufacturers with direct drive. I love it. Spins the clothes almost dry. Takes half the dry time, after removal, as my old top loader which is a huge gas savings not to mention wear and tear. Love the controls---It's quiet as hell----Love the unit. Looked at LG's but liked the Samsung better. I now have a Samsung TV, Samsung digital camera, and Samsung washer.

                    • Yeah I got a samsung laptop and android phone. They really are on top of their game right now. Same with Kia and Hyundai... their new vehicles are selling like hot cakes and getting rave reviews. I love my LG plasma too. Korea is really exploding as an economic powerhouse. Hopefully not literally though... North Korea is insane.

Don't like the feel of their phones and hate their optical pickups on their optical disc drives, but outside that Samsung has been pretty exemplary the last few years.

                        • DanO, aren't they awesome?! One thing with the front loaders is that the gasket can have difficulty drying and get musty-smelling. Good idea to leave the washer door open a day or two after you're done with laundry for this reason.

Yeah? I really like that my samsung vibrant is really skinny. I can't stand even average thickness on a phone in my pockets. My own little idiosyncrasy I guess.

I hardly use DVD drives anymore. DL everything as a digital file or streamed.

Oh thats the reason for that. Most of the time I get my cloths into the dryer real quick so the smell doesn't seep in past the detergent. But that might be info for my room mates.
