It's illegal here in Japan...not that it stops anyone. I've also yet to see a police officer pull anyone over for doing it either. It's rather infuriating.
Anyone heard/read about the new Samsung Galaxy Tablets that are supposed to be released for the holidays?
Seems like a waste to me. They run Android, however not all apps in the Android Market will be compatible. They will not run on 4G, so you're basically looking at an oversized Android Phone that doesn't make phone calls and has a limited number of apps on a soon to be outdated network.
The Sprint one will be 4G. But overall its not inspiring. With the delays these phones have been having in vetting 2.2 I have no faith that this will get 3.0 any time soon. As for the marketplace it shouldn't be an issue outside the fact that 2.2 doesn't include any kind of of upconverting tech for programs with a set pixel size like the Ipad has. I am still holding out hope for the Slate, and if not that then an Android one that comes with 3.0 by default. I am not a fan Samsung products outside TV's and Monitors, so that doesn't help the cause either.
"But because everyone likes their cell phones, we have to debate this."
----------------------That's the whole problem.
"Smith noted that all cell phone use when driving -- including hands-free cell phone use -- is dangerous. "All we need to be doing in our cars is driving. No phone call is that important that you can't wait until you stop," she said."
--------------------------Yep.
I don't get the whole cell phone craze. But I don't like talking on the phone in general. I have to spend so much time in front of computers I surely don't want to have that extended to a cell phone.

The Sprint version will not be 4G. 3G CDMA and WiFi only.

Yeah looks like you are right, the original rumors were with it being 4G guess I hadn't read any competing information on that since. Still its not really a holdup, if you ask me Wimax is a joke and Sprint was desperate to separate themselves from the pack. This choice might be the death of them.
The HP Slate will be releasing soon along with other manufacturers who are releasing the droid version of a tablet.
HP was thought to have killed the slate in favor of their palm acqisition and a palm os release BUT something is up because they Slate is still being released (aka does the palm version have an issue?).
Anyway for sweaty the slate is very similar to the Samsung. The Slate will have a consumer version with an OS I don't know (haven't seen it) and the Business version with a version of Win7.

wimax has a broader spectrum than lte. meaning you won't have to worry about tiered data packages and outages (like AT&T on 3G now) Verizon has already stated that LTE will not be unlimited.

LTE sound great in theory but they don't have the backhaul to support it just like all the data services by all the vendors.
And ask Verizon FiOS clients how great it is and now to have Verizon come out and start end of lifing it due to incredible losses trying to support it.

Makes no difference to me which one is "better" this is the one time litteraly every other phone company is going LTE. They have created senario where they can't share towers, companies are less likely to develop phones for them without them paying for the exclusiveness, and an enviroment where if things go downhill (I think it will) the is little desire to buy their 2.5 incompatible networks.
Anyone on here play SC2? I was pretty good at SC back in the day (it came out right as I was getting in to computers) and I picked this one up on release day. Let me know and I can pm my RealID if needed
