I have the HTC Touch for work. It is a cumbersome piece of shit. It is slow and locks up all the fucking time. I am glad that I did not buy it for my personal use.

Touch is a Windows Mobile device and they are all extremely slow whether it's made by HTC, Palm, etc. I owned a Touch Pro 2 for a couple months and it locked up A LOT.
Evo 4G is an Android, which runs much faster than WinMo, and has a much faster processor...so those issues aren't present.

I'll probably pick one up this October when my current contract is up. I have the 1st one. After they worked out the bugs in the OS (i.e.- dropped calls and inability to receive calls after that without a restart), I've been happy with it. The e-mail, especially, is much easier than traditional keypad input.

if your contract is up any time in 2010, AT&T will let you upgrade to the iphone 4 on launch day.

I actually want the new OS more than the newer phone. Shelled out for an unlocked 32 GB 3gs in April. Surprised to see the storage size didn't double - first time that hasn't happened since the phone was brought to market in 2007.

you can't do the apple equivalent of rooting the phone and installing the new OS?
