  • Not exactly been a great technology week for ya there, eh rommy? Its amazing that things that were considered luxuries a generation ago are almost impossible to live without nowadays.

not sure if you had it looked at by a technician, but sometimes a dropped phone just kills the battery. give it a shot, you may be able to save your contacts

i always recommend backing up your contacts somehow, whether it be your carrier's wireless backup service or through outlook (some phones, like the palm pre, have you create a profile that saves your contacts to a remote location) if you'd like some assistance with this, i'd be more than happy to help!

I know. When I started work at my current company 15 years ago, we didn't have email.

Thanks. I had the ability to back up my contacts by saving them to the SIM card but I didn't bother. My phone was over 3 years old and it was time for an upgrade so I didn't care enough to try to bother getting it looked at. I wanted a qwerty key board for texting and I really like this Samsung Gravity 2 I just got. I've already rebuilt a lot of contacts. I figure for the ones I can't easily get, they'll contact me eventually.

          • Rommy, who is your cell provider? Are you happy with them?

            • T-Mobile. I've been happy with them. They have good customer service but their coverage is not good in rural areas. I've had a few problems with their website lately. It's really slow when I'm logged in.

                  • Took the x64 bit plunge after upgrading RAM to 8 GB last weekend and am thus far very impressed.

Nice to see compatibility mode WORK for once !!!

                      • Coop, or anyone, should I choose to plunge, is it as simple as loading the x64 OS and then dropping the additional 4GB RAM in?

I know that 4GB is the max in the x32 Vista, which is what I currently have.

                        • Drew - assuming your motherboard supports 8GB you should be good to go.

                              • Hey Coop, I have an older Dell computer(about 5 years) that my son uses. He would like to upgrade the video driver to be able to play games better. We already added RAM. If I list the specs can you give me some advice on what to buy to make this thing work better for him? If so, what info do you need.
