Damn did the Lions miss an opportunity.
I think they missed an opportunity to get hammered by the Eagles. Too many injuries. They were not going to survive.

Could you imagine Kindle Vildor starting in two straight NFC Championship Games?

Because that's what would have happened if the Lions had managed to squeak by the Commanders.

I think you are correct. When Amik went down that was the end of it. He doesn't get injured I believe they win against Washington.
        GO LIONS "24" !!

Would’ve been worth it for angry DanO posts.
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

They beat Washington even with him getting hurt - you just can't abandon 5 possessions - with one of them giving the other team 7 points.
Don't think they could score 3 times out of those 5 turnovers? Washington stopped the Lions just 1 time if you don't count the turnovers - and it was the opening drive.
The rest were TD's and FG's.

              • They could have won that game even with the injuries but they were not going any farther. By the end they had a guy named Stantley Thomas Oliver and Moochie Norris as defensive backs It cost them that 4th and 2. That and the last trick play debacle sealed the game

                • In the playoffs, it's all about survive and advance.
Bet you thought NC State had no chance to be Phi Slamma Jamma too....
Guilty, I thought they'd get massacred. At the end of the day, it's any given Sunday - or in their case Monday.

                  • What are you addressing with old analogies from over 40 years ago. Give me a break that nonsense.

                    • It's pretty simple. Any given Sunday.
You don't know what Eagles team shows up in DETROIT if the Lions get to play in their stadium.
Not sure how that is so hard to understand?
Only reason I referenced that game is outside of NC - few if anybody in the entire country actually gave NC State a chance - to even keep from getting beat by 20 - let alone win it.

                      • If NC State had to start a walk on and the student manager, the analogy makes a little more sense.

                        • I am 50/50 about watching today's game.

I have little interest in it.

                            It's the Superbowl, man.

It is an event. You have to watch it regardless.

                            • I’ll probably tune it at some point for a few minutes, but over the years I’ve gotten so tired of everything that goes on around the game and how it is presented, that the game itself is less appealing. Maybe that’s just me getting older, but I really have to have some interest in the game to keep me focused on it - like 3 years ago when Stafford and our Rams were there.

I’ve also grown to despise the 6:30 ET kickoff (even though Im in CST, so it’s not quite as bad). Never been a fan of it, but I think that as the pregame stuff got more bloated it’s made it worse.

(And now to step off my crank ass old man soap box.)

I agree with the pre game bullshit. I won't watch any of that.

Although I get it, I don't like the late start either. When I was in charge of Coast Guard small boat stations and captain of a cutter I always granted holiday routine on the Monday after the SuperBowl.

The game should be moved to Saturday.
