Tomlin makes an average team a playoff team, but he doesn't make GREAT teams..
Kinda like a better Marvin Lewis.
Since Big Ben left, they have been in neutral.
El Axe brings up that Rams game. I said pretty much the same thing to my son last night. You have to pull out all the stops.
I got a kick out of Russ on the sidelines, I think that dude is totally delusional. They score a TD and he is hyping up the lineman sitting down and it had zero percent authenticity. At the end of the game, the Ravens are just about to kneel down and he is standing there with his helmet on like he is ready to go lead them back. Come on bruh.
I kind of think Daniel Jones would be a good fit there.

Russ will be on the food network next year pushing his new show "Let Russ Cook."

Russ kinda strikes me as a guy who tries to act like the "ideal QB"... problem is that "ideal" is a guy that really only exists in his own head.
Part of the problem is that, in reality, Russ is boring and bland as fuck, so any "enthusiasm" or "energy" he tries to convey feels forced, inauthentic, and fake; because it is. If he behaved like himself, he'd be raked over the coals for being "detached" or "uninterested" by the media and pundits, but I bet his team would be considerably more receptive.
The other part of the problem is that... well... he's not good enough to command the level of respect he wants, and frankly never was good enough to begin with.

Tomlin got to this point with so much tenure by being the guy who deflects accountability. He is the poster boy for risk-averse coaching.
Despite all his talk about "carrying the baggage," every year and every game you can count on him making choices that won't blow back on him when they fail. Punting on 4th and inches? Sure, some fans will grumble... but if they ran a play on 4th and inches in their own territory and failed? Half the Steeler brass and faithful would start screaming the n-word they had been polishing up and keeping ready for that perfect moment.
This is one of those things that if it was incomplete on the field, it doesn't get overruled, and since it was called a TD on the field, I don't know how it gets overturned either.
