The Eagles literally can’t get the #1 seed now and it was already hard for them to begin with. They now have 3 losses in the conference. They needed to win out

    • But basically, at this point, now the #1 seed will hinge on beating Minny on Week 18. Other things could render it moot, but now even if by some bizarre twist of fate, even if the Lions lost in San Fran, they could win the division and the #1 seed by beating Minny in Ford Field on the last week of the regular season.

We still need to at least win one of the next 2 games, and the Vikings need to lose 2 of their last 3, correct?

                  • The Packers will take out the Vikings next week.
The Lions final game assuming they beat the Niners will be for nothing since we beat the Vikings on a tiebreaker.
We’ll get to see some hooker and lots of back up depth

                    • There is one (and I think only one) scenario where the Eagles can get the 1-seed.

The Lions would have to lose out and the Vikings would need to lose to the Seahawks and the Packers, then beat the Lions in Week 18.

No I think the breakers if the Vikings lose one for these two games and the Lions win next week. We own the tiebreakers even if we lose week18. Or maybe only if they lose to GB and not the Seahawks. Either way I think if we win next week and win the division that's it for the eagles.

                        • As far as the Lions go, the magic number is (effectively) 2. No matter what happens next week in San Fran, the Lions can still beat Minny in Week 18 to secure both the division and the #1 seed.

Other results could make Week 18 moot, but that's the thrust of it for now.

That would be the ideal situation, yes. The Lions beat San Fran, and the Vikings drop one of their next two. That would make Week 18 completely irrelevant.

                            • San Fran is also eliminated from playoff contention... so they might have I-5 Eyes going into next week.
