Mahomes is just a special player. Unless you have a star QB like him, it’s going to be hard to run it back consistently year in and year out especially in the toughest conference in the league.

The benefit of a QB like Mahomes is that he is in some ways two playmakers in one, and that is a big advantage when you're building a team. But he's not some magic shortcut. The Chiefs still have a very strong team all around him, and have redefined themselves a couple of times based on the talent they have.
