The older I get the more I’m aware of how violent the game is.
If you watch after a play you can always see a player or two who are on the field on their knees trying to regroup and carry on.
The solution is not difficult. Take the pads off. Extend the field in both directions to create space. Implement a player weight and talent cap. Reward good acting for fake injuries. End the game whenever the ref feels it's a good time to do so.
Wait fuck, that's soccer.
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

F#*K OHIO!!!

One of my favorite stories of My Rams winning a Superbowl was Eric Weddle. It was a completely undersold story. The dude was sitting at home in December in retirement, they call him out of retirement because they had injuries at safety. With no practice and two years of rust he is their starter and is calling the defense by the playoffs. He tore his pec early in the Super Bowl, he played through it well, won the Super Bowl and immediately retired.

Shocked Really wasn't expecting it to be you!
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”
Nobody wants to see that in any sport.
But what you described pretty much explains why I've stopped watching the NFL.
I watched an AFL (Australian Rules Football) equivalent of Steelers vs Ravens of the early 2000's last weekend (Carlton vs Melbourne).
Two evenly matched teams playing the same style of footy. Ball control, Physical.
No pads, nothing. Just some tape to hold some guys shoulders together.
The entertainment level of that game was off the charts.
The game flowed, no stoppage for commercials in a quarter.
You can beat me to death with commercials between quarters and at half time, I don't care. Just let the game flow.
In fact I watched them all. That was a game I was glued to.
I'll say this.
I can't remember ever seeing an ACL or Achilles injury in AFL footy and these guys are constantly moving, changing directions and dealing with getting tackled.
What they do seem to deal with are shoulder injuries. Seems like all the big guys are taped up.
60 Minutes recently did a story about an AFL guy and that game looks really good!! How do you view it? Is it on ESPN?

Jake Moody sighting. Still wish the Lions got him.
I dont think the Lions had any intentions of spending a 3rd round pick on him....Like most people, they probably thought he'd be there in the 6th round

I don’t think the Lions were looking at kicker but no one in their right mind had Moody going in the 6th. The 3rd was a bit early as most had him getting picked in the 4th.

49ers smartly drafted Moody well before his projected draft position. Big payoff for them so far. I recall hearing a few teams (Cowboys?) were interested in Moody just before the 49ers drafted him, but it’s irrelevant for the Lions. The next Lions pick was Sorsdal in RD5.
Captain Hindsight people could discuss Broderick Martin vs Jake Moody, but it wasn’t a legit discussion at the time of the draft. That’s all that matters to me.
I wouldn't have known Thibodeaux was playing last night if I wasn't looking for him. Very quiet night from what I saw. He had a sack early but was really a clean up sack, Had a couple other pressures that I saw but those were largely on free runs when he wasn't blocked. Playing against Trent Williams isn't easy, but he wasn't jumping off the screen no matter where he lined up.
