    Thank goodness they won
This is a good thing if you’re talking Packers draft capital. It’s a second round pick now unless he played more than 65% of snaps, which he won’t.

      • Sounds like the imaging on Erin is just a formality.

        • When it happened I told my wife that it looked like an Achilles injury.

As much as I dislike Rodgers, I feel juuuust a bit bad to see this happen. I hoped he would have a shitty year and look like a tired, washed up QB, maybe have some old man, nagging injuries and miss some games, but I wasn't wishing for a serious injury.

          Oh well, Fuck him

They talked about the Jets' O line being an (pun intended) Achilles heel for the Jets and it looks as if they were right. The Bills got pressure on him on all three plays from scrimmage. I don't think he'd have lasted very long behind that O line anyway, but going down on the first series was a bit of a shock.

I wish Stafford would hang them up before something like this happens to him
Out of curiosity why are people calling the potential Achilles injury a career ender for Rodgers? Because he’s too rich and too old to want to go through rehab? Or are QB skills tied more to the Achilles than I’m aware of?

              • Marino came back from an Achilles in his 30’s and was never the same. Rogers has been declining for two years plus he’s 40. That’s why it’s probably career ending.

Are you thinking about Arron Rodgers?

                  • Rodgers will be turning 40 years old and he just might want to say “F it” when it comes to trying to make it back from this injury. An achilles tear is probably the worst common injury that a football player can suffer because of it’s long recovery process.
We saw what it did to LeShoure, Okudah, etc. I can’t say if it affected Tracy Walker or not, but he’s on the bench now. Maybe Joseph and CJGJ are just better.

I guess Rodgers could make a comeback next season, but what’s the point? Guessing he calls it a career.

                    • The way I’ve always thought of Achilles injuries recovery was that it took about a year for surgery and rehab, then another year to regain explosiveness and top speed. Aaron Rodgers without explosiveness and top speed doesn’t seem that different to me

i guess what I’m asking is would any long term injury set off the retirement talk, or is it something specific to the Achilles?

                      • Mason it’s the severity of the injury plus his age ( combination)
Brady ( and to a lesser extent Brees) set the bar high regarding playing into your 40’s but those guys are the exception to the rule IMO

I think that any serious injury, like a knee or other serious joint injury would send him to retirement, but who the fuck knows?

He's 40, has tons of $$, will get paid well to be a talking head (if he wants to be) and is going to the HOF even if he never plays another down.

I don't know what the incentive would be to try to rehab and come back and play. Did I say he's 40?

                          • Rodgers will be back. He has 38 million reasons to suit up next year.

                            • Well, more accurately, Rodgers will try to be back. Whether or not he'll be able to is another question.

Well if he’s intent on following the Brett Farve trajectory he still has to send unsolicited nudes to a reporter then sign with Minny…
