He might. Jones has the better ceiling. Depends on how confident Bellichick is that he'll reach it. Zappe looks like the smarter QB now.

That has to be one of the most ignorant takes ever. Brady has the best pocket presence and side step I've ever seen.

          • Think what you like, I won a lot of money betting on the Giants to end their perfect season for precisely that reason. Knowing where the blitzes are coming from and avoiding rushers that win battles aren't the same thing. I already said he was good at calling out blitzers and getting them picked up or moved around.

            • Whether or not you won money on a Super Bowl has nothing to do with bad analysis on Brady's draft position. A whole book coukd be written on that subject, but it won't have a chapter on him being exceptionally bad at buying time and extending plays.

He had all fucking day to do all of that. That was the result of a good O line as much as a good QB.

                • Allen is ridiculous though. He's pretty much the most physically talented QB to ever step on the field and he's really put it together as an an actual player the past 2+ years. The TD pass he dropped in the bucket at the end of the 1st half was beautiful. And on that final drive he hurdles a dude to pick up a 1st down.

                  • It looks like the NFL has achieved its desire for parity......There are maybe 3-4 good teams, 3-4 really bad teams, and the rest are mediocre. Of course the Lions are still lumped in with the bad teams.....

                    • Allen's ability to wreak havoc makes the offensive line's job much easier. You can't blitz him, last night he feasted on blitzes like he was a grizzled veteran. The front four has to get pressure by staying in their lanes, if you have an undiscipled rush, he'll break contain.

Having a guy who can kill you from the pocket but can run like Gronkowski when they need yards is the best of both worlds

I can't believe I was arguing with people that he was good when people were saying all he was good for was running. Just goes to prove that it takes time for QBs to get it on the NFL level.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

                        • The improvement of his accuracy since he has been a pro has been startling. The dude just throws lasers.

                          • His accuracy and decision making definitely weren't nfl ready coming out. He was a gamble for the physical traits. One that certainly paid off.

                            • It is kind of like Steve Young, the dude had a scatter shot arm coming into the NFL and by the end of his career he was the most accurate passer in the league.

He didn't have a scatter shot arm at BYU - that is for damn sure.
Shit, his senior year he was 70% + - at 10+ YPC.
