Ford Field is smaller in seating capacity, but it is somewhat cavernous. The Silverdome's roof reflected all the sound down. Ford Field's asymmetrical design probably puts it as a disadvantage compared to the Dome.Comment

I think it is a design thing. The fans blew the roof off of the Silverdome when the Lions had a decent team. Even when Ford Field is loud, it is not earth shattering loud. There was a period that the NFL instituted a stupid-assed rule to penalize (delay of game) the home team if it was too loud for the visitors to get a play off.
