  • I was in a Rams discord chat room just to see what they thought. There was a little bit of panicking when the wheels were starting to come off, the special teams blunder gave the Colts the lead, and I was like, "Take it from someone whose second team is the Lions. Stafford has been in this sort of situation all his career. Relax."

Sure enough, he carves the Colts like a hot knife through butter, and the Rams retake the lead.

    • A few potential classics in the afternoon slots. These are some great games at halftime.

Yeah, if you get him to the 4th quarter down less than an score even Lion fans were confident in that. It was being up 14-0 and the coaching staff would turtle or the defense would collapse.

        • Darnold seems pretty solid so far, but it's early. Winston ... um, not today

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

Sounds about right. I read that he was pressured a ton by Carolina today

                    • It was a great game. BAL just refused to give in to froggy and Jackson put on his cape. It was nice seeing Hollywood Brown show up for once.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Yep. Brown is a real talent and Jackson... Holy shit.

It was nice to see Wonderkid Mahommes bullshit blow up on him a bit. Ha!

Derek Carr: We’ve started 2-0 before, we can’t let this thing go downhill

The Raiders followed up their comeback win on the first Monday night of the season with a 26-17 win in Pittsburgh that leaves them with a 2-0 record on the season.

It’s not a new feeling for the team. They also started last season with two straight wins, but they weren’t able to navigate the remaining 14 contests well enough to make the playoffs. That’s why quarterback Derek Carr was stressing the need for the Raiders to continue to be a team that “put the work in and is on their stuff and is on the details.”

“We haven’t done what we’ve wanted to do the last couple of seasons,” Carr said, via the team’s website. “We haven’t been to the playoffs since 2016. I don’t blame that thought process, but at the same time, as a competitor you’re just like, ‘I don’t care about any of that, just put the ball down and let’s see if we can turn these into wins.’ We’ve started 2-0 before, but we have to keep going and we can’t let this thing go downhill. Keeping the mindset, staying in the process, staying in the channel — those are all the things that matter.”

Carr’s play has been a big reason for the hot start. He followed up his 435-yard opener with 382 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday and continued success at that spot will keep the Raiders in position to keep rolling in the weeks to come.

Zach Wilson: There will be games like this, I just have to keep getting better

After a bad first half against the Panthers in Week One, Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was able to get the team back into the game in the second half.

That momentum did not carry over into Week Two. Wilson threw interceptions on his first two pass attempts and the Jets never reached the end zone in a 25-6 loss to their AFC East rivals. Wilson would throw two more interceptions before the day was out and said after the game that he has to “do a better job executing, decision-making, just being smart with the ball.”

He also said he has to make sure not to let the bad day knock his confidence down too much as he moves forward with his rookie season.

“This is what we signed up for, right? There’s gonna be games like this, the ups and downs,” Wilson said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “We saw it last week in the first half as well. We just keep getting reminded how long this season is and how we can just get back and keep getting better. I just have to remember the situation that I’m in. I’m an important piece in this whole thing. How can I keep learning and getting better. You’ve gotta keep that swag and that mojo every single week.”

A trip to Denver is next up for Wilson and the Broncos knocked off first overall pick Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars to move to 2-0 on Sunday.

                            • Gus Johnson's call on the game ending shank in the Cards-Vikings game was epic. It might be a top 5 Gus Johnson call.
