Well I feel like these teams gotta keep playing defense, this is fun to watch but there has been zero defense.
The Prevent strategy made sense in an era where your average NFL QB hit at a 50% completion rate and teams were slower.

Nowadays, you aren't an NFL QB if you're under 60%, and teams can go the full length of the field in 30 seconds.

At this point, the odds of getting beat deep with your base defense would probably be considerably lower then getting gouged for 20-yard chunks in these end of game situations.

If the Rams would have been in a prevent defense, the game would never have been tied.

            • I wish that this game was next week, and I really feel for Buffalo. They played their butts off.

              • The Bills win this year's Lion's Defense Award by allowing Mahones drive into field goal range from his own 25 in 13 seconds to push the game into OT and the eventual win.

No, instead of one big play, Brady just carves 'em up in four plays and gets the exact same result.

Hell, playing prevent and making the Bucs take that extra bit of time probably means Stafford doesn't have time for HIS end of game heroics on the Bucs soft zone.

                  • Neither team was in prevent though. This was more just bad defense. In crunch time the Bills couldn't guard Kelce.

And takes another rminute off of the clock. They never get the second TD

                      • That game sways me into believing the NFL OT rules should change.
College OT rules prior to this season. Do it, NFL.

So heartbreaking for Bills Mafia and Josh Allen.

The Bills had four defenders 30 yards deep on the final drive. That's a Prevent Defense.

The previous drives both teams were playing Soft Dime and/or Quarters zone, which is so practically close to a Prevent Defense to the extent that both teams were using it that it makes no real difference. It's all about denying the deep ball and the sidelines. Problem is, that doesn't work any more, as has been repeatedly demonstrated.

False If Brady scores a TD close to the two minute warning, there was no possible way for them to get the ball back without a successful onside kick.

Disagree. Stop the TD drive and have a shot. It is a good rule. Takes the long FG out of the equation for the win on the first drive, makes a team get a stop or the have no chance.

                              • Bills we’re playing D like they were trying to prevent a TD and they didn’t realize KC had 3 timeouts. Don’t think Leslie Frazier is going to get that HC gig.
