The Chiefs earned their ticket, they were better than everyone else in the AFC. This is what I grew up on, an old fashioned Super Bowl blowout.
There are plays to be made but if has to be quick three step drop passes and quick hitters to the flats. They have called too many slow developing run plays that aren't going to work on the Eagles D. The Eagles are in cover 2 and the Chiefs are still looking to deep passes. And Mahomes is playing like absolute ass. Has he made one audible into a successful play? You would think the Eagles are playing with 13 defenders.Comment

There's a combination of factors here.
Kansas City had a very charmed run through the season where pretty much every bounce of the ball, big break, or big call went their way. Hell, even the playoffs wound up breaking just perfect for them; getting an inexperienced Texans squad to start, then a Buffalo team that simply matches up best for them, rather than a Chargers team that had played them tough twice already and a Ravens team that they barely escaped with a win by a toenail in the regular season.
Tonight, all the things they were getting away with... well... they aren't. Mahomes scrambling is prolonging plays that aren't manifesting. They're playing a better team, and the bounces are abruptly not going their way.Last edited by chemiclord; February 9, 2025, 08:51 PM.Comment

The importance is getting to the postseason healthy, the Eagles got hurt last year and collapsed. It's not like Brad Holmes can go to Walmart and easily pick up a defensive end, everyone wants oneComment

For what it's worth, they did have a front four that was getting to the QB... until one of them broke his leg, another tore his knee up, and a third basically turned to dust. Seriously, take Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and Josh Sweat and throw them all on the IR, and ask yourself how good the Eagles' pass rush would look right now.Originally posted by maxreturn View PostComment

He has tried and a lot of them got hurt. Maybe you didn't notice but most of their defensive line got hurt and then their backups got hurt. WTF, the Eagles aren't running out ps players and the Lions had to raid a bunch of practice squads. When they were healthy the defense was top 5.Comment

You are both missing the bigger point I'm trying to make. I'm simply saying that their focus in the draft should be primarily on putting together a defense that can put more pressure on the QB.That seems to be lost on you both.Comment

I think we have a lot of Lions fans that really don't want to accept that the Lions pretty much maxed out everything they were going to get with the roster they had to take into the end of the year. It sucks, but them's the breaks (and in some cases quite literally).Comment
