Daniel Jones is going to get paid as well, I'm not sure he is a fall back option if you want to go cheap.

I don't know, you never know with QB desperate teams. But I'd guess he gets a 1 or 2 year opportunity with some team but at a severely discounted rate. Probably more than the $10M Darnold got, but not anywhere near like the Mayfield rate. If the Vikings are willing to give him a shot at the starting job, Jones could do a lot worse than playing in that infrastructure and trying to beat out what will be basically a rookie.
