Fuck a bunch of packers' fans
Actually the Packers sucked in the 70's and 80's. Then they acquired Favre and White and the rest is history. Watching the Lion/Packer game with friends in those days, was very interesting. Loud and obnoxious on both sides. Mostly Packer fans in attendance but us Lion fans, the few that we were, held our own. Both teams SUCKED and the two games played against each other were the only ones either team might win all year. Fans from both teams would always say. "I don't care if these are the only games we win all year." I now cherish those times.

I don't think Longstreet did either. At least the Confederates made it to the Union line. Vikings didn't get in the end zone.

        • Think Darnold is headed for franchise tag land after these last two games. And then they can always trade him if some other team is desperate enough. But expect he gets tagged to get another year to prove what he did for most of the season wasn’t a fluke.

The Athletic pod just talked me out of this. Vikings are pick poor due to their trade up for Dallas Turner last year so committing $41M to the franchise tag severely limits them in adding FAs to improve the team. So yeah, maybe Darnold hits the bricks and they keep Daniel Jones as the fallback if McCarthy isn’t ready.

            • The playoffs have emphasized just how important QB play is in the league.

Of the eight teams left, 6 have the best QBs in the league and it can be argued that the other two, Houston and Washington have QBs that are on the cusp.

If McCarthy is not what the Vikings hope he is, they could see their window closing. Diva WRs don't like shitty QB play.

The Vikes actually did get in the endzone last night. They just boffed the 2-point conversion.

Oh Ya. I was nodding off during the game so my memory isn't that great.

Wow, this post brought back a memory from 25 years ago......., Risky Business quote: "Because he boffed Hendrix last week!"
Might have to go rewatch that......., and google Rebecca De Mornay --->> see if she has aged well.
Then I'll go ask Sacha if she wants to go have sex on a train.
Then I'll head to the ER with 3 adams apples.
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

OMG, I just googled her and, yes, she has aged very well. I also googled the Risky Business pictures and seeing her with young Tom Cruise makes me feel so old, so thanks for that, lol.

The Ringer also wrote a similar article: https://theringer.com/2025/01/14/nfl...-card-playoffs

The Ringer points out how Darnold had an almost identical season to what they had been getting out of Cousins. That, to me, means that if you give O'Connell a competent QB, he can turn him into Kirk Cousins, which is a good NFL starter.

So, I agree with you. No point in keeping Darnold since they already have Jones. I think O'Connell can turn Jones into an even better version of Darnold/Cousins.

The Ringer says the Vikings think highly of McCarthy (who, btw, is younger and considered a better pro prospect than the top QBs in this draft) -- so Jones becomes the bridge starter next year while they continue to groom McCarthy. See how Jones plays out, but likely move on from him after next year.

                        • Wow, forgot about Dallas Turner. Many were mocking him as high as #8. Jared Verse turned out to be much better as a rookie.

Darnold legit cost himself tens of millions based on the last two games. If I was Minnesota… would let Darnold walk. Start the McCarthy/ or Jones bridge era. Get a comp pick if an incompetent team signs Darnold to a large deal (less likely now). All valuable resources ($$$/ draft picks) go to rebuilding the interior OLine as Darrisaw + O’Neal appear to be a quality foundation at OT. Pray that Flores doesn’t get a HC job.

                          • Daniel Jones is going to get paid as well, I'm not sure he is a fall back option if you want to go cheap.
