  • I don't think Johnson is going anywhere. If we don't win a SB he's going to want to come back and finish the job. If we do he'll want to try for two in row. Plus I think he likes it here in general and I think he's loves being the OC for the Lions and Campbell.
    GO LIONS "24" !!

    • I think two things are concurrently true:

      - Ben Johnson is quite happy with his job in Detroit.

      - He's still going to entertain head coaching jobs because that's the goal of damn near everyone in coaching.

At the end of the day, we'll see something similar to last year; where Johnson entertains offers, and if he thinks [x] is the right job in the right circumstances, he'll shoot his shot. Otherwise, he'll be more than happy to walk into Allen Park for as long as the Lions will have him.

If he does leave he’s not going to Chicago. He’ll already be on the hot seat because the Bears are dysfunctional

The only things Goff has over Caleb are 3 inches of height, Ben Johnson, and maybe maybe a bit of calm that comes with experience
That's draft Forsh talking. Caleb Williams has yet to show any accuracy in the middle of the field, Goff is the best at it. He has shown no ability at pre-snap reads, Goff is the best at that. That's why the Seahawks were sending zero blitzes constantly, when the quarterback cannot figure a simple hot read you can do that all day.

A great NFL offense should not rely on hero ball quarterbacking with "creativity, scrambling and elusiveness." He should none of those traits yesterday, lots of sighs though.

Yep Forsch is a Goff hater.

Last nights game was a prime example of what happens when you have bad QB play aided by shitty o line play as well. Both QBs were getting pressure all night and made a few hero ball plays, but when the did get time, they missed wide open receivers in crucial situations.

The Seahawks are not a good team right now and Geno showed why he is Geno. Always a play or two away from being anything other than the mediocre QB that he is.

Williams is a talented rookie on a shitty team. That is a bad combination. He may "get it" and become a top QB, but he is going to have to show vast improvement for that to happen.

              • Yeah, whoever takes over the Bears will have to undo about 4 years of bad habits with Caleb. That TD he threw to Odunze that was called back last night, rolling to his left and contorting his body to throw a missile to the endzone? Amazing, maybe 2 or 3 guys in the league that could do that. But that’s the 5%. He needs a lot of work on the other 95%.

If I’m Ben Johnson, I’d try to swing a package deal to Jacksonville with like Ray Agnew or one of the other Lions front office guys. Need to get Baalke out of there. Chicago has a lot of front office chatter about who has the keys between Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles.

                • Yeah, Caleb Williams has a ton of potential; his throws look incredible, even when he's throwing across his body rolling to the left. His TD pass that was negated by a penalty? That's a throw that maybe five or six guys can make with anything resembling reliability. He's also pretty damn smart with the ball; he went something like 350 passes without an interception until his last second prayer (where he basically got hung out to dry by the coaches and his offensive line).

So, yeah, it's not hard to see why he was taken #1. All the pieces are there to be an elite, if not generational type, QB.

But man, Forsh is selling Goff way too short. Goff oozes arm talent himself, almost Brady-like in how he can fit throws into windows that have absolutely no business happening. And he's got more than enough of a cannon in that arm as well. And while he's not going to be breaking off 20+ yard scrambles after protection breaks down, he's kinda in that fuzzy point where you can't justify ever putting a spy on him... but at the same time if you don't have someone watching, he can absolutely escape containment and run for 10 yards or so.

                    • Whoever is the new coach needs to work on Williams with leadership skills. He's the fucking quarterback, the de factor leader of the franchise and he is so in his feelings. That shit doesn't play. Grow up.

Yeah, his body language was terrible last night. Of course, the Bears as a whole have pretty much quit so he wasn't the only player that looked as if he didn't want to be there.

                          I'd rather he didn't...

                          • Does Johnson really want to go to the Bears? Sure, they may have some young rising talent..but they fail to develop quarterbacks and do they have the ownership/leadership continuity from the front office down?
                            Got Kneecaps?

That throw Goff made to Jamo was :chef’s kiss:. He put some mustard on that ball.
