I’m not surprised by this. Dak was always lifted by a great supporting cast and he finally doesn’t have one this season… outside of Lamb, who is fantastic.
Most QBs are like this outside of the elite. Mahomes could hypothetically win a Super Bowl handing off to Brian Calhoun, throwing to Derrick Williams, and with a Ron Prince OLine for example…. Eh, maybe that’s asking a lot…

Mahomes couldn't win a Superbowl doing that without an elite defense. Mahomes isn't actually having a good year this year, he has 8 TDs and 9 ints. Mahomes is much better but the Chiefs are continuing to try and find weapons for him. It's been like this since they traded Hill. It's worked out because the defense came alive. Also he has Andy Reid.
Dak isn't as good as the top level players but he is good. His problem now is he is on a bad team like some of those Lion Stafford teams, but instead of being on at 1 PM with Kenny Albert and Ron Pitts every Sunday. They are a national game a lot. They were overachieving the last three years and now with some injuries it's brought the whole ship down and they are expecting him to keep it afloat. The Cowboys have no running game and no defense (note the Stafford comp). They have a coach who is dining on the same 13 year old Superbowl win that Aaron Rodgers is dining on. He is handing the ball off to Dalvin Cook and Zeke Elliot who are both washed up. On defense they are puny. It's a bad mixture, he probably should have waited for free agency to get the cash but a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. There was no guarantee he could get the same contract with a team in a better situation.

That's a really good breakdown on that. I like how they break down the second to last play, it was nearly as bad as the Hail Mary defense. In real time on a treadmill looking at a screen 30 feet away I was shocked at the defensive formation. They gave up that 13 yard play with no defense. That got them to their own 48 yard line, that sets up a hail mary try and against some teams it's bringing in a potential field goal try. Now the Commanders kicker is Seibert and we know he doesn't have the leg so maybe that was baked into it but some teams do have kickers that might be able to kick a 69 harder. And if you do, McLaurin maybe can get a an extra 3 yards because he went out of bounds with two seconds left.
