Probably not much as they still would have fucked up so many other picks signings. The single change that could have changed things is the Fords having an intelligent football mind that actually cares about the team making operational decisions or advising them. Sheila potentially has that now in Spielman. "IF"she is listening to him. Its also still only in could work territory.

I think Sheila is smart enough to defer to Spielman. I would like to see Rick Spielman be brought in to Detroit in some role too. Director of scouting and F150 trucks……

Especially if John Dorsey is hired by another organization, like the Raiders, for example.

Looking back at his tenure in Detroit, I always thought that Martin Mayhew always did ok with Free Agency, but he was mediocre at best with drafting players. I also thought that he needed another trusted and valued voice in the Draft Room to steer him away from bad picks (most of the 2010- 2012 Draft classes- outside of the home runs like Suh, Fairley and Reiff, the Eric Ebron pick, etc.)

The Montana State Bobcats are in Texas playing the ND Bision for the National Championship.

Of course the CATS 2nd string QB who didn't get a start this year until the playffs started has been amazing, a freshmen out of Butte Montana, now their 3rd string QB is in and up against a perennial winner.

National Division II champion Ferris State University lost it's QB in the first quarter of the Championship game. Still blew out their competition.

Yeah, just like there is no real way to tank in the NFL, there's no real way to "rig" an outcome like that. The league would drop the hammer like Mjolnir on any teams that tried such a blatant display.

What he, and every other GM outside Millen, did not do is screw up a top 5 draft pick. Quinn and Millen are in their own category. They earned that.

The Ebron thing? Yeah, he screwed the pooch. (BTW, who the heck came up with that saying? That's terrible.)

I'll agree to slightly disagree with you, even though I'm 95% with you all the way on most of your opinions, since I'm from Flint (born and raised) originally myself.



I want to see how this team is doing after say, the 2023 season, when the last of the 2 L.A. Rams First Round picks are done being used by this Franchise. Now, if we somehow are at least in the NFC Championship Game in either the 2022 or 2023 season, then Holmes automatically is better than Mayhew. Heck, if this team can somehow win a stinking Playoff game for the first time in over 30 years, then Holmes is right at the head of the class for this historically inept and flawed organization.
