  • Funny that people thought this Jets team was going to be contenders. Bad team all around. Robert Salem wasn’t entirely the problem but he wasn’t the answer either

I was thinking the same thing as I watched him doink not one but two.

      • Apparently there was some deceptively fierce swirling winds yesterday in New York that didn't necessarily show on the goal flags during the broadcast. I suppose that's a decent defense, because both kickers were struggling last night.

But what if you return it for a TD?

          • I'd say in that case that I'd be fine with the penalty being free.

Then the team that receives the following kick gets a 15 yards tacked on to their return

This was probably mentioned already somewhere around here, but did you see where Rodgers threw his WR (Mike Williams) under the bus last night for that last interception?

And then today it was reported that the Jets were shopping Williams...

                • Every day I am baffled by how much the media idolizes Rodgers. He won the Super Bowl in 2011, since then he has been a good regular season player that mostly choked in the playoffs. It's kind of obvious that even though he bristled at the Green Bay organization, he benefitted from being there. Going from one of the best organizations in Green Bay to a wholly dysfunctional Jets organization is exposing him. The Jets have good players and a good defense but they are a mess. You can have talent but if everyone isn't on the same page you have no chance.

Could you imagine Goff throwing a receiver under the bus?

Hey, Rodgers may have even been right. Hell, I'll go as far as to say he probably was. But that's not something the QB says in public to the press. Sometimes a coach can get away with it, but even then a team is playing with fire. You'd think a dude with two decades of experience would know better.

He does know better. That's the thing. He knows exactly what he is doing. The more dysfunctional the Jets become, the more they need to rely on Rodgers to fix it. He is playing locker room politics.

                        • I’ve felt for a while Rodgers won that Super Bowl early and started getting mentioned in the same breath as Brady and just lived off that praise. He was able to pad his stats and wins playing in the NFC North. He lost multiple playoff games at home. I think he fell in love with his QB rating and that’s why he was focused on not throwing INTs. While you don’t want to turn it over, you do have to take risks in playoff games.

                          • Wilson is another guy that won a Super Bowl early and started to believe the “let Russ cook” talk. I think Carroll was doing him a favor by running the ball and letting the defense dominate.

Well, not at the 1 yard line.
