I feel the Packers truly best days are behind them. Those days of them being blessed with some of the greatest HoF QB’s the game has ever seen is done and over with and it’ll probably be a long time until they get another one.

Yeah they will be good enough to hang around and will probably win the division again at some point. Maybe this year but let’s see where that goes. I see them becoming a slightly above average football team again. They will go as far as Love can take them.

      • Eagles back to their winning ways immediately after parting ways with Matt Patricia. Not surprised there.

Hopefully Jordan Love is OK. I don’t root for injuries and want the Lions to beat the Packers with both teams at full force. Don’t go the cowardly route. Usually this subject goes without saying as considerate human beings, but yeah…society nowadays.

Friday night NFL games are fun BTW. Do this more often. Amazing that I can actually not worry about going to work the following day after watching a NFL game. It makes more sense for the players too because they get one extra day of preparation/ rest when compared to TNF.

        • 1. Packers are going and have a good organization, we will not be fortunate to see them return to the doldrums of the 70s and 80s

          2. I don't root for.injuries, but it would be humorous to see Malik Willis leading the Packers for a few starts

          • Saw this video.

That pop his knee did probably isn't great, tore at least one ligament is my expectation.

            • I have a feeling the dynamic kickoff is going to be as static as the old kickoff.exceot you start at the 30 now. What good is it if you kicked can still boom it out of the end zone? If you want returns, make the kicker tee off at the 25 or the 20. Make it hard to reach the end zone. As it stands, if the end result is a bunch of touchbacks it is a downgrade because it looks weird.

                • FWIW this is an interesting video of Love's injury. Purely speculation, but a Dr's perspective.

froot loops what does Mrs Froot loops have to say about this injury?

                  • If it is the MCL like the good Doc says, we are looking at about half a season of loss for Love. My son had this in high school and was out for the year, but he is not the athlete Love is (obviously) , nor does he have the docs availlable for a multimillion dollar NFL player

The high ankle sprain can linger an entire season and if Love isn't as tough as say, Brett Farve, who played with more pain than anyone I have ever known, he will be scrutinized as "weak" in GB circles and will have a lot of pressure to deal with not being 100% and still play at a top level.

If you can still place a bet on the lions to win the division, it will be a good bet.

                    • It's as if the kind of field required for 170 pound men to jog around and kick a soccer ball is different than the kind of field required for 22 man-mountains of strength to push against each other repeatedly for 60 minutes.

                      • I heard the narrative that the field was fine.
The problem was that the humidity was 88%.
The moisture in the air would have made any surface a problem to play on.
Honestly I don’t ever remember humidity being that high unless you’re in actual rain conditions.

                        • The field wasn't great. But that sort of injury happens on any type of field. That injury was on Love twisting himself into a pretzel trying to make a play.

I agree about the injury. I was referring to the exceptionally poor traction all game.

                            • Appears that Jordan Love appeared to have avoided major injury and worst case scenario. MCL sprain. Good for him and Packers fans.

That said now that it might be acceptable to mention football ramifications of this news. If Jordan Love is out 3-5 weeks and the Packers start off winless in that stretch (seems probable), it’s a big deal when you consider offseason expectations. Taking away much of the ceiling of what the Packers could have been. I think the Packers would be smart to sign Ryan Tannehill because of how terrible Malik Willis is. Starting Willis for a few games vs an easier schedule isn’t a wise move.

Cody never wish good on GB or their fans. They are spoiled by greatness and deserve Millen- era malaise
