Are the Ravens good or is it the Bengals just can't handle dual threat quarterbacks?

As Froot likes to say, "Sometimes you have to win games 17-13" and it doesn't look likely they'll be able to do that against the sort of teams they'd run into come playoff time. A great defense can shut down their offense. Their defense right now can't shut down a good offense in the same way, especially offenses with dual threat QBs that can exploit both their DL containment and the soft zones they have to run.
But ya know, "enjoy the ride" I guess.

If you look at most of the contenders this year, they all have crap halves or games that give you pause. Even the the last two Super Bowl champs had some clunkers. My Rams got their ass kicked by the Cardinals and had a 3 game losing streak where they gave up at least 28 points in each game. Of their 5 losses, they lost by double digits 3 times.
The Chiefs last year only lost 3 games but they had a middling defense and had to rely on the offense.
The Lions are 7-2 and hopefully they stay healthy.

There's a reason why there is only 1 team in the Superbowl era to go undefeated.
Playoffs will be about matchups and that 1st seed will have a huge advantage. It's really hard to play great games for 3 straight weeks. The 1st seed only has to play great for 2 straight weeks and has an easier draw.
Because of the easier schedule, 1st seed is on the table. We'd need to go at least 13-4 and maybe 14-3. The last 3 games against the Vikings x2 and the Cowboys will be huge for seeding since they are NFC and common opponents with the Eagles.
