I haven’t looked at the stats, but wouldn’t be surprised if 2021 Tua is comparable to 2021 Mahomes.
Minus the fact that Tua missed some games due to injury.

Come on man. You’re better than that
F#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.
Ok fine. I looked at QBR, passer rating, and PFF grade.
Mahomes is marginally better than Tua in all three as of now. So close. Plus you will never find a natural born leader like Tua, so there’s that. 😂
Jokes aside… Mahomes is down this season. Sure he is capable of working his way out of it.
It’s like Tyler Herro in the NBA. Awesome rookie season that led to the Heat making the Finals. Supposedly dealt with personal distractions that led to a randomly disappointing second season. Now Tyler Herro looks good. Rumors of Herro dating an IG model and having all sorts of drama.
I would GUESS that Mahomes is dealing with something off the field to explain the struggles.
There’s also tons of pressure at the top. He’s a fantastic QB. He’ll be fine

Mahomes has to figure out how to take what the defense gives you. He is continuing to force the ball deep when it isn't there. NFL defenses have figured out how to defend him and he has to adjust. Tom Brady has survived this long because he has mastered the intermediate routes. Mahomes has to be able to do that.
He kind of needs to work on his footwork, even when he was putting up elite numbers he some undisciplined plays where he would turn his back and do some crazy play. It would work out, but that doesn't last long.
Even at the time, I had said Mahomes was doing some things that he could only get away with because he had a ridiculous supporting cast bailing him out of those poor decisions. Now with talent a little thinner and a few years older, those blind off balance throws to the wrong shoulder or a yard too high are turning into interceptions rather than "Holy shit what a throw by Mahomes!" moments.

Part of that is on the Coaches too. Teams clearly watched the Superbowl and saw that even if they play deep the Chiefs won't run the ball more than occasionally even if they are doing it very well. I've seen it happen this year too. Not sure if it's the case all the time. Combine that with what you're saying being absolutely true and its a recipe for disaster.

It's a fixable thing too so I wouldn't write him off yet but he's gonna need an offseason to work on it. I just made the assumption he'd be at least passable when forced into these situations which is all he has to be to keep defenses honest. He's clearly not even passable.
Chiefs O-line average age right now is 24. Just saying.
That would be a point to make if they were playing badly but they've actually been very good. There's tons of tape this season on Mahomes having plenty of time in the pocket, having every opportunity to set his feet and make an accurate throw and he just doesn't do it.
